Cowher in when BP leaves?

Have you ever seen the volume of liquid that comes out of Cowher's mouth when he yells at his guys? No way Jerry lets a Steeler come in and spit on his new carpet.

:lmao2:
POST OF THE DAY!!!

Butch Davis is in Chapel Hill. O'Brien is at NC State.

Where is he going to coach? Duke? Perhaps he secretly covets the East Carolina job.

Far too much is being made about this house in Raleigh IMO.

The question is, what woman would turn down 8 million(probably more) a year ;) She'd probably kick him out the door.

I don't watch college or keep up with it but there is a ton of talk about him taking over some program here. Hell mybe Fox is on his way out.:)

I just have a feeling that Cower will come to Big D this offseason. Parcells sounds like he has made an agreement with Jerruh on what will happen. I know Jerruh can't tamper with Cower, but Parcells could. Cower wants money and the Cowboys are the only team, other than the Commanders, that will pay him what he is worth.

The Miami job might be inticing, but the Boys have the talent for Cower to take them to the SB. That has to figure in his plans,

Anyone else think there is a side agreement out there?

There's no way Cowher would work for Jerry, especially after working for a first class owner like Rooney. Also he's looking to de-stress, if he worked for Jerry his stress level would rise 1000%.

I think Cowher, with his background in the 3-4 defense, would be a logical successor to Parcells, but I'm not really eager to see the Tuna leave... I think the Boys are THIS close to being serious contenders, and I think that Bill Parcells is the reason why...

Besides, all the indications I've seen are that Cowher wants to take a year off before getting back into coaching... I might be more enthused by such a switch after next season...

Sure sounds like it. Reading some of his comments about him and Jerruh have an understanding just makes me think he is done. Jerruh would do well to encourage that thought with Bill.

I dunno, isn't that pretty much what both parties were saying this time last year??

but he also might want to stay 'energized', which is what he says this team does for him

you guys are falling into the trap again, Bill gives off 'signals' every year, and every year you guys trip out and go through a head-coaching search

Exactly right, summer... exactly right...

Of course, we shouldn't be too hard on our fellow fans in here, when the media is having a field day with that kind of speculation too...

But Saint Joe of Gibbs has the kind of job security the rest of us can only dream about, LOL...

And that is the truth.

I wouldnt want Cowher anyway. Even though I think he is a good coach.

I'd love to see Cowher here. I'd absolutely love it. In fact, as I sit here and think of 'dream' successors to Parcells, he probably tops my list. He's a proven winner, always fields a competitive team, has "name" value to please Jerry, and runs a 3-4 so we know we won't be wasting our recent draft picks.

But I think if Parcells retires this season, we're screwed in the Cowher race. I'd really be surprised to see him unretire a few weeks after leaving Pittsburgh to come here. It just doesn't seem like his style.

I think to get him, we need Parcells to return for one more year.

cowher has hit the wall of coaching "burnout" ala vermiel, parcells, and jimmy johnson.

he will take a year or two off minimum. he may even be done with it (unlikely, IMO).

the timing is not fortuitous here.

How about this scenerio. Cower to Carolina and Fox to the Cowboys after next year. Cower just built a 3 mil. dollar home in N.C. Fox is a Parcells under study.

Soooo when can we get rid of Zimmer and bring in Dick LeBeau ?

I think people are reading way too much into this so called post season "agreement" between Parcells and Jones. It is not some master plan to name Parcell's successor.

The only agreement or plan between them was the setting of a timetable by which Parcells must make a decision on whether or not he's coming back.

Yep. I read something like that a couple of days ago.

After all the speculation last season as to whether he'd be back, it sounds like when they agreed on the one year extension that a plan was put into place regarding a timetable after this season in which BP would decide whether or not he's going to fulfill that final year.
