I think this is based on his 2023 expectations....ie. entering this upcoming season.
  • Mahomes and Burrow at 1-2 seems clear
  • Clearly, he thinks the Lawrence trajectory will continue, but ahead of Allen seems steep.
  • Goff ended the year 6th in TDs-turnover and QB rating last year, so maybe he assumes he continues playing as he did in 2022. I'd have to say prove it in that case.
  • I guess he's expecting Jackson and Stafford to regain their health and return to form. We'll see. But Stafford has no line and Jackson has no weapons. hmmm
  • Also projecting Herbert. That seems high, but I really do expect him to improve.... even if you don't like Kellen Moore, he's an upgrade for the Chargers.
  • Rodgers needs at least one good WR wherever he ends up.
  • Hurts fans will want him higher but that seems ok. If he does it again (after a year of DC's having a look at that read-option) then have to give him more love.

If it’s based on last seasons play Rodgers has no business being on the list.He probably wouldn’t even make the top 15 list. That bad.

Cowboys went 12-5 2 years in a row. Dak huge part of that.

Supposed to goto championship game? Lol

Says who? SF much better team. Proved that 2 years in a row.

If you had cowboys beating SF then I have to question you football knowledge.

Dak choked? Like at Tampa?

Entire offense folded in SF against #1 D. Both predictable and forgivable.
I didn't have the Cowboys beating the 49ers, but with how the game went, we should have beaten them if Dak didn't single handedly cost us the game with his stupid turnovers.

PAPPYDOG

There are no Dak haters just Cowboy lovers!!!

Dak shouldn’t be on the list, he has literally shown every except you, americancowboy, and the other loonies that are blind that he sucks and that’s all there is to it. Get over it and take dak with you
I laugh as Dakko keeps them looking foolish with his egg-laying performances.
Loonies is being kind to them but hey they provide unlimited laughter when they post every left-field excuse for their man-crush.
Only a few are left now and their # are dwindling as Prescott is not helping their cause.
Interception anyone?????????

I don't like folks with an agenda. Dak is an average QB who put up great stats once in a while. He is without a doubt our LCD.
You can have whatever opinion you want on Dak but he is clearly a better QB than Goff…by a landslide.

Not once in a while, he wins in just about every meaningful QB metric out there.

Yards and TDs, in this instance, aren't that impressive. They don't run the ball....at ALL.

SO anything they do is through the air. They have woefully underperformed for having the "4th" best qb in the league.
The way that people like Cowherd change their criteria for an "elite" qb is comical. Lawrence and Herbert have never done anything. Yet they are 3rd and 4th because they have long hair and big arms lol
Eye Test is VERY Subjective :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Lawrence is crazy high. He seemed to dink and dunk a lot this year to scrounge up 9 wins. That’s a major improvement projection to put him over Herbert, Allen, Hurts, Rodgers.

I also think Rodgers is too low, he actually had a strong year when taking into account GB’s situation, and nothing indicated he’s not capable of another MVP if he goes somewhere with more talent.

Even If Dak’s interception woes continue next year, you could still make the argument he could slide in at 10 and move Goff to 9; drop Lamar until he can prove to play a full season. Or did Cousins earn that 10th spot?
These lists are always interesting to peruse, but I think anyone who takes them as meaningful is a moron, a lemming or has an agenda they are trying to prove (usually the latter from what I see here). But let's look at the people on this list as an example. It just highlights how crappy the QB play is right now outside of maybe a handful of guys who are superstars. Lawrence has done nothing. Had a decent little run last year late but certainly nowhere near top 3 right now. Hurts had one good season and behind the best OL by a mile in the league. Also questionable as to whether he is good going forward or not. Stafford got hurt but was absolutely horrid when he played. Rodgers is going to be 40 next season. Lamar is an elite athlete but I just don't see an accurate passer. Goff? nuff said...

Yeah...NOT based on last year's play. Based on expectations for this year

Here is lots of factual data for you. Enjoy!!

Since 2016, the Mississippi State product has piled up some incredible numbers which clearly put him in the category of elite. All-time, Prescott ranks fifth in career passer rating (tied with Drew Brees with 98.7), fourth in career pass interception percentage with only 1.7%, and fifth all-time in completion percentage with 66.6%.

To go along with that, since 2016, he ranks eighth in total passing yards, 11th in yards per game, and 10th in passing touchdowns while missing 11 games in the time span. Prescott has also finished top five in QBR in three of his five full seasons and top 11 in four of the five.

Since 2019, though, Prescott has only been improving as a passer. No QB ranks higher than Prescott in yards per game, and only eight rank above him in total passing touchdowns, despite the games Dak lost to injury.

To go along with long-range stats, No. 4 was pretty spectacular stat-wise this past season as well. He posted the Cowboys’ single-season record for touchdowns with 37, 4,449 passing yards, and a third in the league ranking passer rating of 104.2 in 2021.

The advanced stats also supported Prescott’s performance last season. He ranked first in red zone accuracy rating, fifth in true passer rating, 10th in expected points added, eighth in deep ball accuracy rating, second in red zone completion percentage, and first in touchdown passes versus the blitz.

Now, with all that in mind, imagine if he was healthy all year long and had an offensive line that didn’t rank 23rd in pass block win rate in 2021. When compared to his peers, Prescott ranks highly, as the stats clearly tell. So, why is he often ranked below quarterbacks like Jackson, Carr, and Murray, when he puts up better numbers than them and so many others?

No mention of the fact that since 2018, Dallas’ O is ranked 3rd in ppg. Not bad.

I’m just befuddled that no one is upset that Lamar Jackson is in the top 10.

Yeah, that was ridiculous. Hurts should be #3 at the very lowest, and maybe #2. Josh Allen is also ranked too low.
They need to put an asterisk next to Hurts and Geno Smith. It seems the NFL was taken surprise by these two. I don’t believe that happens again and their effectiveness will be stymied. IMO of course.

Id move Rodgers above Hurts and drop the rest down by 1. I’d probably slide Dak in right after Cousins but the rest, I’m good.

Hurts had a superb offense around him, one that can run down the throats of other teams, and can protect the QB exceptionally well. It will be interesting to see how well he does when the Eagles lose several key players to free agency, putting more pressure on Hurts' shoulders. Will he thrive like Mahomes or will he cave? I guess we'll see.
