Agreed, and if he doesn't start to progress in that area quick I think people will sour on him in sort of a Matt Ryan type of way. With that said though Herbert physically checks every box you could ask for in a quarterback. 6'6" 230LBS with a rocket arm and mobility to move in the pocket or take off and pick up cheap yards on the ground. Not to mention this was Herbert's age 24 season. Given his age, tools, and regular season success so far he's a guy you give a little more give more leeway too.

Really in retrospect, the "stats are for losers, winning is all that matters" crowd was the pro-Dak crowd until 2019 when Dak really had his statistical breakout.
No they always hated dak. the beginning it was he didn’t put up Stats because team was winning. Then it became he didn’t win cuz he was putting up stats. Then it was his salary is killing the team. Now that he’s winning and putting up stats is that we’ll never win a SB. All laughable dancing and hypocrisy.

I am well aware that team success or failure is not all about the QB, but like it or not, in today's game, the QB has the most responsibility out of any player. That's why they make the big $$$$$$. Anyone who doesn't understand that is football-challenged.
Captain obvious which again means nothing. It’s a team game. All a qb can do is score points and run the offense. And then he is beholden to an oline, weapons, run game, and scheme.
learn football.

The POTUS is beholden to Congress, the Media, a massive bureaucracy, and public opinion. But he will get the praise or blame for whatever happens. It’s the way it is. Learn about life bucco. And you know why I played four years of football at a D1 school? It’s because I know football.

Lawrence is crazy high. He seemed to dink and dunk a lot this year to scrounge up 9 wins. That’s a major improvement projection to put him over Herbert, Allen, Hurts, Rodgers.

I also think Rodgers is too low, he actually had a strong year when taking into account GB’s situation, and nothing indicated he’s not capable of another MVP if he goes somewhere with more talent.

Even If Dak’s interception woes continue next year, you could still make the argument he could slide in at 10 and move Goff to 9; drop Lamar until he can prove to play a full season. Or did Cousins earn that 10th spot?
Lawrence at 6
Rodgers at 4
Hurts at 8

I actually think that over rates Hurts but he had a pretty great year. Dak can be anywhere 9-14 and there’s no argument from me.

Tough time reading? I understand…try to go slowly.
Oh I read it perfectly, and you have a right to your opinion, but I can't see how ANYONE can put Deshaun Watson over Jalen Hurts at this moment. You're going off of Watson 2+ years ago and Hurts was the MVP runner up. Show respect to Jalen; he had a fantastic year.

Running QB just don't last. The defense is just too big and too fast today.

I expect Hurst will miss approx half the season next year due to injuries.
if I was starting a team I'm taking burrow.

Here is lots of factual data for you. Enjoy!!

Since 2016, the Mississippi State product has piled up some incredible numbers which clearly put him in the category of elite. All-time, Prescott ranks fifth in career passer rating (tied with Drew Brees with 98.7), fourth in career pass interception percentage with only 1.7%, and fifth all-time in completion percentage with 66.6%.

To go along with that, since 2016, he ranks eighth in total passing yards, 11th in yards per game, and 10th in passing touchdowns while missing 11 games in the time span. Prescott has also finished top five in QBR in three of his five full seasons and top 11 in four of the five.

Since 2019, though, Prescott has only been improving as a passer. No QB ranks higher than Prescott in yards per game, and only eight rank above him in total passing touchdowns, despite the games Dak lost to injury.

To go along with long-range stats, No. 4 was pretty spectacular stat-wise this past season as well. He posted the Cowboys’ single-season record for touchdowns with 37, 4,449 passing yards, and a third in the league ranking passer rating of 104.2 in 2021.

The advanced stats also supported Prescott’s performance last season. He ranked first in red zone accuracy rating, fifth in true passer rating, 10th in expected points added, eighth in deep ball accuracy rating, second in red zone completion percentage, and first in touchdown passes versus the blitz.

Now, with all that in mind, imagine if he was healthy all year long and had an offensive line that didn’t rank 23rd in pass block win rate in 2021. When compared to his peers, Prescott ranks highly, as the stats clearly tell. So, why is he often ranked below quarterbacks like Jackson, Carr, and Murray, when he puts up better numbers than them and so many others?

explain this year? people want wins. the passing game is promoted now that's why there so many guys with " all time this all time that" all of a sudden

Herbert has the most passing yards and TD passes in his first 3 seasons in NFL history.

He's not the problem with the Chargers.
Chargers will be in the AFCCG next season.

It is the way of people that dont understand football. Its the way of media types that need a story. And the fools that listen to the media and believe everything they hear. You obviously learned little. Did your coach teach you about defense? Oline play?

Emmitt just said that we need to bring Zeke back. LOL

Is he right?
