Collin made a terrible point....1st round QBs...not playing to protect them...lol. Nope...because they look terrible. Then says Wentz is only playing due to trade...well...Dak is playing due to injury.

So ridiculous.

It was a terrible attempt to make a point! And used completely invalid reasoning. There was no credence given to the fact that Prescott not only outperformed all of them, but his performance obliterated anything any of the other rookie QB's came close to accomplishing.

Funny how "preseason isn't real football" when Dak is lighting it up. If that's the case, how bad are Goff, Lynch, and Wentz playing when they can't come close to performing at the same level while playing "not real football"?

If Goff was playing well enough, he'd be playing. If Lynch was good enough, he'd be playing. And the Eagles paid Chase Daniel $7 million a year. If they didn't think Wentz was ready, they wouldn't be playing him.

People can say whatever they want about the preseason. The fact is that Prescott played great then while all of the rest struggled. He displayed the preparedness, confidence, and poise that are required. He played great, no matter what the conditions were. And despite anybody's attempts, they can't change that fact.

During the 2014 offseason, Elway paid for a free agent corner , safety, pass rusher, linebacker, and defensive tackle. Talib, Ward, Ware, Knighton, and Marshall cost Elway about 115 million. In 2013 denvers defensive ranking per PFF was 22nd. By 2015 it was numero uno.

The Giants are trying to copy that plan. It's not completed yet, but that's what they are attempting by adding a free agent corner, pass rusher, and DT. Next will be a safety and linebacker.

Dear Jerry, please copy Elways plan to the best of your ability. We have the DTs in place, just get us a DE, safety, corner, and one lb. We have the fourth lowest paid D line in the NFL, that needs to change to at least middle of the pack.

There's no excuse for how they've handled the defensive end position, none.

When it blows up in their face, they have no right to be surprised, and the fans should give them no slack on it. It became priority number one the day they decided Greg Hardy wasn't worth the trouble. If you want to get rid of him, fine. But then, you're required to find a suitable replacement. And little to no effort was ever made.

And when they got news on Randy Gregory's continued issues - in February! - defensive end became priority number two as well. And when they got news about Lawrence's suspension in April - before the draft - it became priority number three as well.

But all of these circumstances were effectively ignored while the team arrogantly thought they had it all figured out.

And now that the season is here, you're down to three guys at defensive end, all of them conversions, and putting your strong side linebacker out there. That's how bad things truly are. There's not a more glaring indictment of how poorly this team's management has handled the position.

Skip is doing the backstroke in the Dak Kool-Aid. Cowherd was a lil more sensible on him. Looking great in Preseason is nothing to get all excited about. We will have our hands full on Sunday. I do agree with Skip on the Zeke/Morris 1-2 Punch being very important in this game. Just hope this "greatest O-Line in football" lie becomes Truth tomorrow, cos so far, it's failed Romo in back to back seasons.

Tell'em Skip!

Sharpe is awful. He's trying so hard to take the same road Steven A did and be a Cowboys hater. It should just be Collin and Skip, honestly.

Since when did the NFL start drafting a quarterback first overall to bench them? I don't recall the last time before Goff that happened.

The one thing that really bothers me is that these media guys act like Dak was the only quarterback in preseason to see vanilla differences. He did exactly what a good quarterback would do and that's shredded it pieces.

Maybe a rookie QB leading the league in just about every passing category through three games of the preseason is nothing for YOU to get excited about, but don't tell me how I feel about it. Some of us realize that the preseason is no indicator of regular season success and are looking at more than just preseason stats in forming our opinions.

I know this. All of the other starting quarterbacks also played in the preseason, and none of them - outside of poor Teddy Bridgewater before his injury - were outperforming Dak Prescott. Anyone trying to undermine his performance needs to explain to me why the best quarterbacks in the league didn't outperform him.

Oh please! The word "articulate" should never be used in the same conversation with anything concerning Screamin' A Smith.

The only thing that clueless hack is good at is yelling. How he still has a job is a disgrace and shows how low ESPN has fallen.

There's a very good reason that while Fox was throwing huge money at these two, Screamin' A was thankfully left behind. Bayless is what he is, but he's a choir boy compared to Smith. And he looks to have toned down the nonsense he was charged with bringing to ESPN.

Yeah he's a screamer but he's not your typical run of the mill inarticulate angry black guy. Which is the character he gets paid so we'll to play.
I agree ESPN is definitely on the downturn, especially when a show like 1st take is one of its top programs.
Fox is definitely taking a huge risk with the signing of the side clown of 1st take. I think they're banking on hurting one of ESPN's top shows then actually getting something out of Skip Bayless. I doubt Undisputed and Skip get renewed past their current contracts.

He's a sensationalist. A muckraker whose sole function is to stir the pot, oftentimes stepping over the line and somehow getting away with it. He's everything that's wrong with ESPN and a huge reason why people like me have left in droves.

From what I've seen so far, Bayless has toned down the act with Fox and isn't going the sensationalizing route there. We'll see if it sticks, but I think Fox is making a concerted effort to take the high road and leave the low road to BSPN.

It was toned down at the end at ESPN too. I actually enjoyed the show, folks pretending to be outraged at it but have no problem saying Romo is fat on a message board is being hypocritical

When it's people giving honest opinions with no money involved on a message board it's entirely different than people paid to fan the flames of controversy. Not "hypocritical" at all.

Romo has failed himself. Doesn't matter how good your online is if you can't take a hit. Thats part of playing QB and thats how Tony plays. His body failed.

The media is completely disrespecting the Dallas defense. Statistically, we were a middling defense last year and we were all the more ineffective b/c our offense was inept.

This year, we get Scandrick back, improve (drastically) at DT, and are more solid in the secondary than at any time since Woody retired. I realize DE is an issue and I agree with the poster that said the front office failed to address the position adequately--- but I just think this D is going to play fundamentally sound football and be better than many pundits expect.

I get the preseason argument thing, but if preseason is so easy and so different to regular season, shouldn't all quarterbacks have perfect ratings then?
