Cowherd: This is what Dallas was last year. What happens when game is tight?

A garbage take by Cowherd. This defense is built differently from last season and better in every single position group.

  • Parsons has leveled up to a game wrecker and single-handedly improved our edge rushers
  • We have top-end corner talent in all starting positions and Gilmore might be the best of them
  • Odigzuwa has made clear progression as an all-around DT with upgraded/improved specialized options to rotate in around him
  • We have a variety of depth DBs that can contribute at a high level situationally

The first two points can't be emphasized enough. Parsons has made 2022 and 2021 pro-bowlers respectively look helpless and visibly cleaner with his pass-rush technique. Diggs, Gilmore, and Bland have three interceptions after two weeks and have given up one single big play. There's no guarantee that this defense can curtail better QBs but the limited evidence we have suggests they should be able to do a much better job of it than last year. We just don't know until we see it.

What do you mean by "tight", Cowherd?

Do you mean, like, 10-7?

In that case, they would come out and dominate in the second half while putting the game out of reach or did you not watch the game yesterday?

Not that I am forecasting this but you can lose to very competitive or underrated opponents and still be a more talented team. Didn't the 9-7 Giants win the Super Bowl in 2011 against the Patriots who had a perfect regular season and post season record leading right up to the big game?

But all the season in my opinion, looking very good only to see us just fall apart at the end of the season but as some posters have stated we’re not the same team as we was last year am I buying into the Kool-Aid? Yeah, I probably am, but I’m a fair what can I say? They have just as good as a chance this year is any year ever and barring that we have any injuries. This team should go far but first things first gotta win the division get in the playoffs, then make some noise

What about them. If you are implying that we lost, yeah we did. I never said we didn't lose close games but Cowherd implied that we don't handle close games well and I pointed out the multiple times we did. Some of you want to be so correct so bad, you don't pay attention to the details.
We did it twice...those are our biggest games. PRIME prime time. TWICE...against the same team.

Not sure why I'm getting the lecture of cherry picking when it's exactly what you are doing. Leaving out powerful evidence to support your point.

Let's hope we bust their chops in a few weeks.

lol @ Cowherd. "I can't take a ton from yesterday other than blah blah blah." However, he CAN vomit off a ton of nonsensical boxing analogies in making his point.

NFL history has seen a ton of teams with very good defenses paired with unequal offenses. Cowherd could have easily used actual historical professional football examples in making hypothetical examples with this season's Dallas team but no. "I'll talk about Iron Mike Tyson. I still remember him beating Michael Spinks in 90 seconds. Man. Am I smart or what? "

Smh at sports talking heads. That is four minutes and 23 seconds I will never get back. I have only myself to blame.

He isn't an elite QB and the owner shouldn't be so overcommitted to him.. but Dak is 100% good enough to lead this team to a SB if we use him correctly. If we keep Daks ego in check.. he should be having around 30 attempts a game (depending on how many turnovers the D gives us) and most of those should be short routes, screens.. safe stuff. Occasionally we need him to hit CeeDee on a go route or hit an open receiver off a good rub route. Then lean into the run game that goes through Martin and Smith/s.

With a D that will always keep you in the game.. and likely give you +2-+5 opportunities in turnovers/good field position.. then the offence just needs to be tidy. Dak CAN be tidy.. we have seen it over a very long period. When he is not playing hero ball then he can make the throws. I also can't complain about his leadership stuff.. the team seems to rally to him.

So the pieces are in place.. now or never.
Yes but we still have to settle for this MEDIOCRE QB

Are people forgetting the Packers' 2010 Super Bowl season? Aaron Rodgers threw for 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.
