I have issues with Garrett, but he's too much a consummate professional. The only thing that would change my mind is if Wade Phillips came out and said Garrett had sabotaged him.

Garrett is too incompetent to sabotage anybody...............he can barely figure out when to use timeouts, so for him to have some master plan he was operating behind the scenes is questionable.

I always like hearing from old players, whether I take what they say with a grain of salt, or not. If nothing else, it's a temperature check from within the locker room at the time. If Crayton and Holley felt that way (I haven't heard the audio yet), you can bet some others probably did, too.

That said, this probably isn't all that shocking coming from two players who were released under Garrett. Crayton delivered on the field and had a big mouth to begin with, he's gonna talk. I have to say, hearing Jesse Holley critical of the team in any way usually rubs me the wrong way. He was an entirely forgettable player if not for Michael Irvin calling in a favor to get him a shot at the roster. He repays that favor poorly by being publicly critical of his experiences with the organization during his time here.

If Jason Garrett "sabotaged" Wade Phillips, then that means 53 other guys were on board with the scheme because they quit on Wade that year.

Crayton blew it here in Dallas, got sent away, and then faded away into obscurity on a Chargers team where he should have excelled.

Garbage in, garbage out. Crayton wouldn't even push Cole Beasley for a roster spot on this team.

Also, if you get "New Plays", maybe it's because the "Old Plays" weren't working? Not that there was any Sabotaging going on.

It seems like you would make that sort of adjustment at 1-4, 1-5, or 1-6 if that was the reason you were installing a new playbook. Why wait until your season is entirely shot to switch to what you think would be a more productive playbook?

That's kinda the part that I'm thinking about the most. Their claims are simply how they viewed the situation so maybe they are wrong........less likely than just a single account but whatever. I'm not too concerned with their take.

I think the new playbook does raise questions though.

Sounds like they're saying "Why are we running this simple offense?" in one sentence and saying "we got all these new guys" in another sentence and not really putting the two things together. How many players missed the off season? I remember Dez did for sure.

Other takeaway from broadcast is that Romo is coddled by Garrett and doesn't get called out for mistakes in practice.

Whether you believe it or not , and that probably comes down to you being pro or anti garrett, it raises the same old dysfunctional issue down at VR.

Fasinating stuff. As aven8 said, the way Garrett has proven to be such a blame-dodging politician, this wouldn't surprise me a bit. Either way, handing out entire new playbooks is bizarre to say the least.

And for everyone launching ad hominems against Crayton... Parcells pretty much loved him. I'll take his judgment over the Red Trainee's any day.

Holley should be keeping his opinion to himself. Thats biting the hand that fed you big time in his case.
