It seems like you would make that sort of adjustment at 1-4, 1-5, or 1-6 if that was the reason you were installing a new playbook. Why wait until your season is entirely shot to switch to what you think would be a more productive playbook?
That's kinda the part that I'm thinking about the most. Their claims are simply how they viewed the situation so maybe they are wrong........less likely than just a single account but whatever. I'm not too concerned with their take.
I think the new playbook does raise questions though.
Garrett is too incompetent to sabotage anybody...............he can barely figure out when to use timeouts, so for him to have some master plan he was operating behind the scenes is questionable.
Can't trust me either then.
Fasinating stuff. As aven8 said, the way Garrett has proven to be such a blame-dodging politician, this wouldn't surprise me a bit. Either way, handing out entire new playbooks is bizarre to say the least.
And for everyone launching ad hominems against Crayton... Parcells pretty much loved him. I'll take his judgment over the Red Trainee's any day.
Exhibit A:
Swing pass to Tashard Choice 5 seconds before the half on our own side of the field

Id almost forgotten that - Thanks.
Interesting to listen to, at any rate. One could drive a truck through some of the holes in the augments if either of the hosts had bothered to ask anything but leading questions, though. Obviously, Crayton did not like Garrett, and that's part of the reason why the player was traded. I'm not sure what Holley's issue was. It's pretty obvious that Crayton, Barber, TO and Choice were among the group of players Garrett ran off when he took over. He probably did it for a good reason, and now these guys are returning the favors.
What do you guys make of the idea that the team was completely bifurcated under Wade? Angry at Jerry for allowing that? At Wade for tolerating it? It seems a ridiculous assertion, if true.
Regarding the play books, I don't think it's all that surprising that an offensive HC would implement a set of plays his defensive predecessor did not have him running. It'd have been nice to hear more about how the defense changed under Garrett, as well. Neither side of the ball stayed the same through the transition, so I don't know why it'd be surprising to anyone that the offense changed somewhat, overnight.
The playbook thing may not have been a huge issue in retrospect. Romo was on IR and it was Kitna's 3rd game. He was a much better deep passer not as nimble.
The dysfunction stems from hiring an OC before HC. Can't say that is ever the norm, except Washington
