another player who sucked last year, and has sucked since he was drafted. this year he either puts up or shuts up, since he wants to talk about the coaches, like i was there fault he sucked so much

I'm not for trashing a coaching staff, but....how many times did you say, "Why are we not throwing to Crayton?"

I'm glad we have a new coaching staff. Great drafting for the most part, but I agree with Crayton.

he is no nonsense but the players say he likes to joke around with them at times and stuff. My understanding that I gather from the way players talk is he is not a tyrant but detailed oriented and is suppose to be pretty funny when the cameras are not around.

I think his media face is different than what is in the locker room.

like I said I could be way off base here it is just a growing trend I see in successful head coaches

Parcells joked with players as well plenty of clips from practice and training camp to prove that but like belicheck he is very demanding. Jimmy Johnson joke around and cut slack to stud players, other guys feared Johnson. I'm not saying this is the only way to coach only that there are many different styles of coaching that works. Main thing is the coach has to be himself, he can't put up a false front or the players see through that. I also think the so called players coach has to be careful that he does not allow things to get to laxed or some players will take advantage of the situation.

That sentence just reminded me of a funny interview once with Emmitt in the early years....92 or 93 maybe. A reporter asked how he could carry the ball so many times without a fumble. He said straight out that (either Lassic or Williams, backup RB) fumbled twice in one game and Jimmy cut him and he didn't want to be cut.

Like we would cut Emmitt, but that is what motivated him.

I heard simular things from players in the 90's. The fear of failure motivated them. Jimmy jumping on their ars also played a part. :laugh2:

(Ladies and gentlemen, you've witnessed a condensed version of a highly charged, well articulated conversation.)

:lmao2: That is some pretty funny stuff.

VERY SELDOM.

We had TO and Glenn ..... those guys obviously were and had to be the focus.

I'm not saying we couldn't have thrown to Crayton a little more, but I didn't at all see a big problem in this regard.

The offense was not our problem last year - we scored a lot of points. Sure there are things to resolve - there were too many ill-advised throws by both Bledsoe and Romo, but I suspect Romo will learn from those mistakes. And Romo will be more careful how he holds the ball in traffic. And hopefully the O-line will be a little more steady as well.

But our use of Crayton was not a huge issue.

Sure there were issues with coaching (much more on defense though), BUT MOVE ON ALREADY.

If we think everything will suddenly be better ONLY because of the coaching change we are destined for problems - the players need to quit thinking that way and be proactive about the season.

hey - i'd LOVE to see crayton get used more like any crayton fan would. (of which i am a crayton fan) but when you have TO and Glenn and Witten, opportunities are just not there to go crazy on our #3 WR, #4 or #5 overall target if you factor in jones/barber to a degree.

if he bides his time i think he could be a hell of a #2 WR. not sure about #1 yet but anything is possible but it would take TO and Glenn being gone or hurt to see if he can step up.

This mirrors my thoughts.

With the RB's getting more involved as receivers this year I can't really see many more opportunities for Crayton until either TO or Glenn leaves or gets hurt.

For me it's simple. It doesn't matter how harsh BP was and how nice WP is, it comes down to wins. BP was conservative and VERY ordinary on defense, and on offense he had a little more pizzazz, but he would get cold feet and stop attacking.

His short game (passing wise) was miserable. Parcells scheme was good intermediately to long, but we couldn't do a short drop to save our lives and this affected us pressure wise from opponents defensively.

My point is, players want to get after teams, and be conservative when you absolutely have too. The Colts and Patriots believe in attacking people, offensively and defensively. Somewhere along the road, Parcells lost his "umph" and it cost this team. Question is, can Wade mix things up and be aggressive enough to put it on the players? He'll give the players every opportunity to be successful, it's up to them to do it now.

WEll, for me it's simple - these players need to quit whining about Parcells and the past and worry more about what they need to do now and in the future.

IF these guys think Wade being a nice guy is going to alone make them more successful, or even his scheme, we are doomed. They need to forget the past and bust their *** now.

No doubt about that, but if someone asks me a question, i'm going to answer it. (but i'm a straight shooter)

On the other hand, if Wade puts them in position to be successful, and they don't perform, they can blame no one. I just don't think Bill put them in the best position to be successful at what they could do, and if that's the case, then it's the coaches fault.

Let me put it this way, when you see James running down the middle of the field covering a wide receiver, your coaching staff blew that one, or else James is a **tard.

I understand what you are saying about answering a question, but enough already ...... are you going to keep answering it after you and everyone you are associated with has answered it 165 other times?

There comes a point where people just have to give it a rest and just tell the media the current team is all that matters now.

And the funny thing with these "straight shooters" is that I have no doubt that if things don't go the way they want under Phillip's they will develop the same kind of attitude about him.

Yeah, there was a breakdown on the play you mentioned. Still, it doesn't define Parcell's tenure anymore than a specific positive play does.

Patrick Crayton sucked?

When?

He was a terrific 3rd receiver. What games were you watching?

I Could not agree more. Among 3rd wide outs Patrick Crayton was at least top 5 last year.
