I expect the Cowboys to have a bounce back week, and certainly don't expect Dak to see five sacks.Chargers have Bosa (toe) and grampy Mack and a bunch of guys who have been career backups and PS players. We give up 5 sacks this game I’ll eat my boot!
Mack truck did have 6 in a game so 5 isn't outta the question! And here's another weird stat:
Cowboys sacks allowed:
Game 1: 0
Game 2: 1
Game 3: 2
Game 4: 3
Game 5: 4
Yup: 0-1-2-3-4
If we allow 5 sacks on Monday night....
(No, I don't think this means what some might readily conclude)
The offense is comatose.Little to do with the thread, but thanks.
It's mediocre. The disparity in huge blowouts and huge losses is a bigger issue than the offense moving the ball or even our red zone offensive performance. The offense is comatose.
Proof the season is still early. But it’s hard not to notice the same habits from the last nearly 3 decades. Soft and entitled is no way to act for a team who hasn’t won a divisional playoff game in 28 years. In this entire Cowboy season...there hasn't been a single lead change. Not one. We've either lead throughout...or trailed throughout.
And not one game close at the end.
I'm a database guy and Chargers are one of three teams I'm tracking. So I have this at my finger tips. He’s listed as the backup to Bosa!
I try to avoid typical fan rage narratives and study what is going on.Proof the season is still early. But it’s hard not to notice the same habits from the last nearly 3 decades. Soft and entitled is no way to act for a team who hasn’t won a divisional playoff game in 28 years.
No rage here. It’s just the sad truth. We’re soft until proven otherwise. That’s not rage, it’s just the unfortunate reality.I try to avoid typical fan rage narratives and study what is going on.
Here are key factors I see creating our Jeckyl and Hyde season:
1. Turnover Differential (-4 turnovers in losses vs +10 turnovers in wins)
2. 49ers are undefeated w/Purdy. We lost to a better team. They have arguably best defense and offense. We also got hurt by penalty differential and TO dif.
3. Vs. Cardinals...Dallas went sack hunting and got hurt by 4 huge runs (44, 20, 45 and 26 yards). Offense was very productive but just 1/5 in Red Zone.
4. McCarthy's offensive schemes are outdated. Play design static and simple. Red Zone offense a train wreck. Attention to detail on offense is also lacking, reflecting on MM and Schott.
I'm an empiricist. Sorry you have no proof that we lost any game this year because of "softness" or "entitlement." Nor can I disprove it. The oft repeated playoff drought proves nothing, as we cannot assuredly ascertain it's cause (or multiple causes). No rage here. It’s just the sad truth. We’re soft until proven otherwise.
Right, saw that… chalking it up to a backup QB, tackle who should be a backup and him still holding a grudge vs the Raiders.I expect the Cowboys to have a bounce back week, and certainly don't expect Dak to see five sacks.
That said... "Grampy" Mack has been playing like a fading star for awhile now, but out of the blue he had 6 sacks in just one game in his last game versus Chargers. He'd had no sacks prior to that, and then 6 in one game! Their rookie Tuli Tuipulotu is a good player with nice pass rush skills, and then of course they've got Bosa (who never seems healthy and misses every other game it seems).
49ers have good pass rushers at DT and Edge. Top-3 pass rush for sure....lol.. oh, oh, dont even say it. And the Irony of it all. We had our BEST OL start Vs SF.
I forgot about Mack getting jettisoned by the Raiders. Maybe that factored in to his 6-sack game. But, as you say, a more likely explanation is he feasted on a JAG player opposite him for a one-game oddity.Right, saw that… chalking it up to a backup QB, tackle who should be a backup and him still holding a grudge vs the Raiders.

Very strange stat indeed, but it kinda confirms what we have all seen in the games. In this entire Cowboy season...there hasn't been a single lead change. Not one. We've either lead throughout...or trailed throughout.
And not one game close at the end.
The 49ers defensive line wasn't even that dominant. It's not a game you watched and think "man they were getting to the quarterback".And here's another weird stat:

The 49ers are PFF's #1 ranked team. They are DVOA's #1 ranked team. Pete Frisco (CBS), Sharp Football, ESPN....virtually everyone has them #1 ranked. The 49ers defensive line wasn't even that dominant. It's not a game you watched and think "man they were getting to the quarterback".
Cowboys fans read this and read this clear. The 49ers are an elite team but they are not as good as we made them look, and we are not as bad as they made us look.
stats are worthless at this point. Our three wins have been by an average margin of 27 points!
But the tribe doesn't want to consider anything positive at this time. This is AngryDome.
