stats are worthless at this point.
cherry picked stats are even worse
That post was merely to bring balance to the force. We have 3 triumphantly dominant wins...and in the doom'n-gloom mood here no want wants to even acknowledge that.

From a rational standpoint everything at this point is small samples, premature judgments and recency bias. The season is five games old...just a toddler with a passifire.

To balance things out I'm morally and intellectually obligated to repeat and double down:
Our 3 wins have been by an average of 27 points. (That doesn't "just happen")

I'm an empiricist. Sorry you have no proof that we lost any game this year because of "softness" or "entitlement." Nor can I disprove it. The oft repeated playoff drought proves nothing, as we cannot assuredly ascertain it's cause (or multiple causes).

What could be easily determined empirically is how such angry-narrative language comes out when the team struggles. Pervades the site when the team isn't rolling. And the "likes" for angry, dismissive and cynical posts skyrockets.

What can be proved about this season?
-This team can utterly dominate at times vs some teams
-Turnover data and it's correlation to W-L (the TO differential is off-the charts in how stark it's been in our five games)
-The 4 or 5 huge runs that gashed us vs. Arizona
-Our high volume offensive production vs. Arizona (26 first downs / 416 yards) yet Red Zone futility (1 of 5 TDs)
-49ers overall dominance offensively and defensively since Purdy began starting.

These are empirical.
I’m not knocking your evidence here. I was simply responding to your implication that my prior post was “typical fan rage.” I was just clarifying that I was not expressing any kind of “rage.“ I haven’t been upset about what happens with the Cowboys in a very long time.

My other point that this team is soft is my opinion. You’re welcome to disagree.

I try to avoid typical fan rage narratives and study what is going on.

Here are key factors I see creating our Jeckyl and Hyde season:

1. Turnover Differential (-4 turnovers in losses vs +10 turnovers in wins)

2. 49ers are undefeated w/Purdy. We lost to a better team. They have arguably best defense and offense. We also got hurt by penalty differential and TO dif.

3. Vs. Cardinals...Dallas went sack hunting and got hurt by 4 huge runs (44, 20, 45 and 26 yards). Offense was very productive but just 1/5 in Red Zone.

4. McCarthy's offensive schemes are outdated. Play design static and simple. Red Zone offense a train wreck. Attention to detail on offense is also lacking, reflecting on MM and Schott.
There is an exceptional amount of groupthink that tends to dominate forums. I’ve noticed it’s only strengthened in intensity in recent years.

In this entire Cowboy season...there hasn't been a single lead change. Not one. We've either lead throughout...or trailed throughout.

And not one game close at the end.
That changed tonight, for the better. LA jumped out 7-0 but the Cowboys came back to win 20-17.

Yup. And this one came down to the wire.

Funny as heck but the other curious season fact I mentioned early in this thread perpetuated itself.

Cowboys offense has now yielded this little oddity:

Game 1: 0 sacks
Game 2: 1 sack
Game 3: 2 sacks
Game 4: 3 sacks
Game 5: 4 sack
Game 6: 5 sacks

Yes, we permitted 5 sacks tonight in the win.

Let's hope game 7 doesn't lead to 6 sacks, but Aaron Donald will need to be dealt with to prevent that.
