I was told that my opportunity would come when a quarterback gets hurt. I cannot remember the last time so many QB’s have been injured during the preseason. I have been strongly encouraged from family, friends and league personnel to continue to be patient and wait for an inevitable injury to one of the starting quarterbacks in the league.

Yeah, hurry up and someone get injured. A lot of youse get injured so Cully can have a career.

The decision I made in 2006 to represent myself rather than hire an agent has been an invaluable experience. I now understand why so many people within the NFL community are uncomfortable with a player really learning the business.

Yeah, especially when the player is stupid.

Since I will not be given the opportunity to honor the memory of Gene Upshaw by wearing a patch on my uniform this year, I will instead spend some of my energy applying what he taught me about standing up for what is right and not sitting down for what is clearly wrong.

So go away and quit whining, already!

I am a better person today as a direct result of the experience of playing in the NFL.

I doubt it you self-centered vulture waiting for an injury to happen. You are not a better person you are a BITTER person.

without the distraction of waiting for those elusive return phone calls.

Oh, someone return his phone calls.
What a piece of work.
What an embarrassment. One day, when he's a greeter at some hotel in the Poconos, he'll look back in disbelief at his goodbye.

I guess he came to grips with the fact that he won't be starting for anybody anytime soon.

He should have waited.

He could be a starter in week 2 for all he knows... meh... he could always pull a Brett Favre(version4):laugh2:

Unless he's filed papers he can still play, he will get a phone call by week four, some team will offer him more then the vet min if he picks up and agent and Pep will jump at it. Can't stand the tool myself, that stroy about him giving a kid in a wheelchair his ice/bling/crap off his neck and then asking for it back showed me all I need to know about him. He's a moron.

he will play THIS season. Some team will lose a starter and realize there backup cant lead them.

See: 75% of the NFL.

He will actually get a decent deal if he is brought in TO start, and that will only happen through injury. And some team every year loses a guy.

On a related note, I also would like to take this opportunity to let everyone on the board know that I refuse to play for an NFL team in the future. The only exception to this comes if any team wants me to play any position for any reason. I'd also consider a job in a front office, or maybe an NFL mailroom.

:laugh2: That was funny.

Used to be my favorite player and one of the most exciting players in the NFL, I would say even more than Michael Vick because Culpepper was fast as **** and he could pass too... I remember once he was picked off and he ran down the guy who intercepted him... He would have been an amazing Defensive End.

2004 was an awesome year for quarterbacks if Peyton Manning didn't win it that year he definitely should have...

Trent Green was still awesome then, Drew Brees and Mcnabb both had nfl record-setting years, Jake Delhomme was still good... Now it seems like I can only count a handful of trully good quarterbacks anymore.

That sucks. I think he was asking for too much. It's as simple as that why he isn't getting a shot at someone's roster.

This is a bit over the top on the melodrama if you ask me.

Yep. He complains aboout the money and power and yet he's a big part of that. Even before he decided to represent himself.

It is over the top drama-wise. Nobody's gonna feel sorry for him. Half of us have already forgotten about him. I'm curious to see if he really does something or if this truly is a feel sorry for me annoouncement.
