Attributing his horrible season to one player leaving and refusing to look at all the other variables like his OC leaving is kind of what Sean Salisbury likes to say....Bush League.

That was the biggest variable of them all. If you can't understand that Moss's presence alone on the field changes an entire gameplan maybe it's you who is "Bush League".

And it's funny you'd refer to Brad Johnson as a "veteran" but not Culpepper. The guy has been in the NFL since 99, if he's not a veteran what the hell do you call him?

Yes, read my first quote in this thread. When Moss left, every DC and Corner in the Great North breathed a sigh of relief.

-No more double teams and gushy zones to stop moss

-No more facing defenses that are terrified to blitz because of the big play threat

-No more lesser receivers having nice seasons because the defense is paying attention to Moss

All I am saying is the guy had one horrid season and you are jumping the gun by saying he sucks, he got exposed blah blah blah. You do not lose the ability to play football, especially if you were playing it at a high level before over night.

Me or you have no idea what was going on his Culpepper's life. What losing his OC meant to him, what all the crap going on in the locker room had on him.

Im just saying, let's give this guy more than what...did he play maybe half a season, to see if your theory is correct.

Fair enough. Just keep him far away from Dallas.

Kool Kool.

Kilyin, what are your thoughts? Do you want to see Henson or Romo play? Stick with Bledsoe, and/or want to draft a new guy.

Who is to say that if Culpepper were still playing they wouldn't be winning their last several games. The Vikings beat the Giants and Johnson was very ineffective that game. They won with defense and special teams. They have played Detroit twice, Green Bay and Cleveland during their winning streak. Those teams are not that good this season. There is just a lot more going on than Culpepper getting injured. It is an up and down orginization.

I might just be blind but I can't find the first quote in this thread that you alluded to.

At this point in the season we have to stick with Bledsoe. I lost some faith in the guy last Sunday but I'm praying he can turn it around and the OL can block a little better. As bad as we played, I did note Bledsoe had a clean pocket to throw from several times, but he still panicked. He needs to throw it away if there's nothing there, don't force it into double coverage.

If we get mathematically eliminated I wouldn't mind seeing the backups get some playing time.

This right his is what really bugs me. How far along do you think Henson and Romo could have been if Parcells would have just put them in when we go blown out and we got blown out alot last year. They should have definately saw action when the playoffs were hopefully out of reach.

I'm guessing you were mad when Purcells yanked Henson out of the Bears game. And let's be realistic, I think it was safe to say we knew our goose was cooked before that game as far as the playoffs. I'd like to find out what we have there too, so we can maybe draft a QB if that's what it's going to take. I'll save this discussion for another time though, since we could still salvage this season and maybe make something out of it.

I was saying that last year, too. It just made no sense not to give Romo or Henson playing time. I wasn't necessarily pushing for them to start at the end of the season, but I saw no reason for them not to get playing time.

I don't think the playoffs will be decided until the last couple of games this season. Bledsoe has to play better, but it is really going to come down to the line playing better to win these close games. It would also be nice to have the special teams step up and create a couple of game changing plays down the stretch.

Dante - yeah, let's trade a high pick for a huge contract.

Dante is a decent QB. But what made his stats look so hot was playing with Moss.

Remember, Jeff George and a washed up Randall Cunnigham both put up HUGE numbers playing pitch and catch with Moss. Dante is better than those two - but his accomplishments are greatly inflated by the Moss effect.

Exceptional qb but at this point I really would like to draft a Young Buck.

Same here....let's stay with Bledsoe and draft a young QB to develop.

First and foremost FIX the Oline!!! Need a top OT and OG....at a minimum in the draft, plus anything in FA for a good price.

Doesn't it irritate everyone? :D

Really though, I don't know what to make of Culpepper. Before this year, I'd have taken him in a heartbeat. But why did they pick up so much when Johnson came in? You can't blame everything on Moss -- Johnson doesn't have him, and he hasn't made Collins into anything special.

Bottom line, I would still definitely take him here, bad year and all. But in the end, I doubt Minny is ready to give up on him. They'd still need a QB -- it's not like Johnson is any kind of long term solution.

Culpepper will not want to be our #2 QB....Bledsoe is our starter in 2006 and most likely 2007....

Can we stop these QB threads??? :bang2: :bang2:

Do you really think that is going to happen?

That's like asking folks to stop threads about moving Allen to RT.

These threads are like oxygen to our less knowledgeable CBZ brothers and sisters.

Yep.

I look forward to the day I can go grab a jersey from the Pro Shop of a QB from dallas that is

A - Younger than me (im 27)
B - not a former Baseball player
C - Not a huge reach in the 2nd round
D - A 1st round pick

I know my standards are high but...errr..nevermind :bang2:

Bro I really love that avatar. Our secondary, Glenn, Roy, Henry, Newman and hell even Keith are playing very well.

Makes me want to go watch that video of some of Roy's big hits someone made here called "Dont tug on superman's cape"

BTW, do you know what the picture of Roy holding up that "peace sign" originally was?
