Like I said before....I'll be VERY surprised to see him be walking NORMALLY by THIS TIME next year.

Tearing your MCL, ACL, AND PCL, would cause normal people to walk not normal.

If he plays again, it will surprise me.

If the reports are accurate that he tore all three of those, forget it.

Actually, I wouldn't take him if healthy I don't think.

If I recall, Willis McGahee injured all three of those ligaments during the Fiesta Bowl with Ohio St in 2003. Though I'm not sure on the collateral damages to the surround tissues was as bad as Culpepper's.

It took him two years to recover and get back to being able to play where he was, though I don't believe he'll ever run 4.28 40-yard dash again.

Your entitled to your opinion which I definately dont share.

I really dont recall the study that was done that show just how successful historically quarterbacks have been that have been drafted in the first round as opposed to ones who were not.

Look at the Cowboys
Don Meredith (chosen first with Don Perkins by the Cowboys staff in 60)
Craig Morton - 1st round
Roger Staubach - 10th Round (I dont know if he would have went in the 1st if he had not devoted himself to going to the military)
Troy Aikman - 1st Round

2004 Playoffs Quarterbacks
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chargers Drew Brees
Colts Peyton Manning
Eagles Donovan McNabb
Falcons Michael Vick
Jets Chad Pennington
Packers Packers *(Brett Favre played all but 1 year for the Packers)
Patriots Tom Brady
Rams Marc Bulger
Steelers Ben Roethlisberger
Vikings Daunte Culpepper
Broncos Jake Plummer
Seahawks Matt Hasselbeck

Correct me if I am wrong, I dont know about Hasselbeck but Brady and Maybe Favre are the only ones that were not first rounders correct?

The data goes on and on and I dont feel like typing it all out. Yes there have been major busts but data has shown there have been far more hits then misses.

Look at who the up and comers are..Carson Palmer, Kyle Orton, Byron Leftwich..all first rounders?

Hasselback wasn't a 1st, and neither was Orton, he was a 3rd I believe

Favre was a second rounder, yes. However-I believe the Falcons traded him away to the Pack for a 1st rounder-FWIW.

and Hasselback was drafted although the Packers had Favre very much in his prime

Hasselback's start is eerily similar to Henson's...backup w/ no expectations of ever seeing the field, in fact, idk if he even saw the field before Holmgrem decided to bring him along to Seattle to be his starter...

sorry, I'm a big Henson supporter, can't you tell? lol

You beat me to it. Unless we know he will actually be able to play, why are you all getting carpal tunnel arguing over whether we should get him or not.

Yeah-why not get Jeff Blake, Shaun King, Trent Dilfer, Kelly Holcomb, etc, etc to boot-so we can play these "QB musical chairs" all over again for the next 10 years.

Well I think Dante's biggest flaw is he tries to do too much. Parcells might be able to really pull the positives out of him in his style of coached offense. It would be worth a consideration if you ask me. Especially if the likely happens and Owens ends up here next year.

Kind of like Bledsoe's problems with a broken down O-line and Aging WR's that cannot get open...Huh?

Oh Wait.....Those things don't apply to Bledsoe....I almost forgot

Problem with your little snipe, though, is that Drew Bledsoe has a whole history of middling performances. It happened in NE, it happened in Buffalo, and its happening here. Same song and dance year in and year out. With Dante, you expect the 30 TD passes and piles of yards. With Bledsoe, you expect 3500-20-15.

Farve was a high second rounder. I dont think the falcons got a 1st out of him, it was either a 2nd or 3rd.

That would cost us 2 number picks for him, I'd rather draft a young later round QB.
