So how much would the dead cap hit be if Dak was traded after 1st June 2027? The no trade clause probably wouldn't be too much of an issue as he can basically be told that unless he accepts a trade he will not be playing, they can besmirch his character in the media, especially in light of his personal life saga this off season and paint him in a horrible way which would seriously impact any media aspirations after he retires especially as JJ surely has a bit of influence and he would go down as even more of a joke quarterback if he was happy to get paid as a backup and not want to play and compete elsewhere.

It went over my head that they restructured his contract. Absolutely brain dead. So they will be lumbered with him for several more years. I was expecting this to be his last season especially after yet another inevitable failure.

I think Jerry and Q discussed it. Jerry wants a restructure and Q wants more money and/or an extention.

If Jerry doesnt want to extend him, it doesn't make sense for Q not to take a restructure. It gives him all the money he is due up front except for a small base salary. And honestly, I don't think Q has a choice if the team decides to restructure...pretty sure it is already in the contract to do it. Unless the Jets write their contracts differently.

He has no guaranteed money after this year, and only about $8m this year is guaranteed. If Dallas converted his 20m salary into a signing bonus he would get that money up front and guaranteed. I'd much rather have $19m in hand then have to wait 18 weeks for it.

Clark I am unsure about. I thought we had restructured him but it isn't reflected anywhere on overthecap and they usually are pretty accurate.

Other things I found say that it was a roster bonus that they converted to a signing bonus and spread it out. In that case, since they didn't touch his base salary, maybe they still can convert that if they chose to. Would be an unusual situation I would think.

I agree but I suspect with the cap going up, he’s waiting for FA.

They have all the draft picks though at $885,000 per year. So it has not been updated since 6 or the 7 draft picks have signed.

2027 has us just over $7 million under. So that is not as bad as I thought. However, again not accounting draft picks actual contracts yet.

Cap goes up every year. Owners know pretty much How much since most comes from broadcast rights and they know that part for sure

Would you be willing to extend Ferg and Bland to get it? I don’t think there is anything left to do to get more besides them two. Q was an option but I think that ship has sailed.

Quinnen can get you 15 in an extension, and of course, if we resigned Pickens we could get up to another 20.
There is space to be had if we want it.

Yeah I doubt an extension for George is in the works, but what have you heard on Q? It seems like for the price we paid he'd be our cornerstone and they'd want to extend him.
