The Cardinals and former Bengals offensive tackle
Levi Jones apparently are interested in each other, but neither side is motivated enough now to do anything about it.
Jones' agent,
Kenny Zuckerman, confirmed an
ESPN.com report that the Cardinals had expressed interest in Jones. But Jones is looking to be paid like a starter should he win a job, and the Cardinals aren't willing to give that assurance, Zuckerman said.
"They (the Cardinals) wanted to sign him a while ago but it's not in his best interest unless the contract they gave him guarantees that he would be paid commensurate with how much he was going to play," Zuckerman said. OAS_AD('ArticleFlex_1')

Rod Graves could not be reached for comment.
Jones, who is from Eloy and played at Arizona State, was a former first-round pick who played seven seasons for the Bengals. He was hampered the past three years by knee and leg injuries, missing 18 games in that time. The Bengals released him in May, and Jones has long expressed an interest in playing for the Cardinals.
Jones has spent the off-season in the Valley working out and is now healthy, Zuckerman said.
The Cardinals are one of about a dozen teams to express interest in Jones, Zuckerman said. But Jones likely won't sign with a club until after the start of camp. If tackles are lost to injury, Zuckerman is convinced Jones' value will increase.
The Cardinals have been pleased with the play of left tackle
Mike Gandy since he joined the team two years ago. Unlike Jones, Gandy has been durable, playing in every game the past four seasons.
Gandy has a high salary cap figure this year, $5.8 million, which might have sparked the Cardinals' interest in Jones.
