Maher is the ultimate spare. As a 28 year old with no experience, I don't even think he was on any other team's radar last year to make a roster. He would still be unemployed if the Cowboys didn't deliver him the starting job on a silver platter

I'm seeing more than one journalists who works around the Cowboys say that they believed that Maher should have been replaced in the off season. But, the front office didn't listen and now we are playing the price for it.

Funny. I called this when he was signed. He played for the CFL team where I live.

He will make the odd long kick but misses way too many shorter ones - not sure why they couldn't see this.

Who's the best kicker out there? Nugent has looked decent. Hopefully they get an NFL kicker this time and not a shaky CFL cast-off.

Bailey - 89%, long of 50 yards

Maher's replacement would probably hit 43%, with a long of 29...

I never wanted Bailey gone, I knew his form would return.

Well I didn't know that, but I did think he would. The problem is he never got the chance to return to form, scapegoat for the team's failure, you should never depend on a great kicker to win games, it seldom works out that way.

Just add that to the long list of stupid personnel changes by Dallas...
