Dallas didn’t sign a single wideout to replace Cobb, leading many to assume that they will heavily consider drafting a WR in the first two days of the draft.

Or, they plan to move to an I-formation offense featuring 2 WR sets. All kidding aside, I wonder how much success that would have if Dallas had a Moose Johnson type lead blocking FB?

We are only going to burn a top 100 pick on a WR because we don't have any other use for it...not because WR is a need or anything

im betting we would be fine without adding one more WR, I mean a slot WR say in the 3rd would be great BUT AC better have his bets season as pro with this new deal he got, stop disappearing on the road and Gallup will continue his progress, Jarwin was signed because some fans here say hes got WR skills and should get more targets and for sure Pollard and Zeke need many more receptions then they got last year..

this is Kellen Moores time to shine , we shouldnt need more offensive weapons especially given the DROOLING from some of you over Pollard, let him run many of the slot type duty's from the backfield or spread out..lets see what he can do when hes actually relied on for real production..

so as it stands

we can run out Gallup and AC on every play for all I care, add in a slot player that stands out in camp to just go grab some receptions but force feed Jarwin and pollard many more balls this season and additionally Zeke when he and pollard line up together he will get open out in routes..

those worried, a should not be.. MM and Km are supposed to be installing schemes to fit the roster , I mean many said it was coaching so here it is.. we dont need 3 1k wrs when we have pollard, zeke and Jarwin that should get Cobbs receptions plus some.. the other WRs on this roster are just going to get a catch here and there and no one will notice them..

Boy, that was a giant waste of your time

When the 2020 regular season gets underway, the Dallas Cowboys are going to sport one of the league's most formidable pairs of wideouts. With Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, quarterback Dak

This team is drafting a WR. There are more draftable WRs than their are teams.
DAL will draft one. Question is what flavor and how high they choose to draft one.

KD is a good dude and makes some valid points but the way he organized the article makes it fall flat.

Looking ta 2018 snaps and replacing them is not that hard to do.
It starts with getting Amari Cooper 100 more snaps as a healthier player you just paid franchise WR money to.

Then you replace Tavon Austin's 300 snaps and gadget role with Tony Pollard.

And with John Fassel at the helm you worry less about ST fit because the Head Coach no longer has to run that area., Fassel will tab good special teamers that play lots of snaps and some that are specialists.
He's not going to force the team to take Ventrell Bryant over Devin Smith. He's more likely to troy out Zeke on punt team on a given week or play just to freak out the defense.

A top 100 pick is low end?

That's a premium pick

3rd WR is not a high end need for any team. Especially when you have two guys over 1000 yards starting on the outside. TE is much bigger need than #3 WR.

The main reason that WR is a good option for the Cowboys is two fold:

1. This is deep a WR draft as you are ever going to see. You can get a great one in the 2nd round and good ones in the 3rd round.

2. In MM offense the 3 WR set is a standard set and he you will see plenty of 4 WR sets.

With the previous coaching staff, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a stud in waiting. I already trust this staff more than the previous one. We'll see how this all shakes out. Lenoir may not make the cut in the end or he may prove that the coaching staff before didn't understand what they had and how to use them.

My quick take: we don’t have a #3 WR. It’s Cooper and Gallup. Rest are really bad, IMO. We should definitely draft one.

All I saw was a bunch of WR4 and WR5 guys in that article.

Cowboys need to replace Cobb/Austin on day 2.

We have four WR's
1)Cooper
2)Gallup
3)Smith
4)Brown

If injuries hit we'll have next to nothing at WR. That's why I don't want us to draft a WR just for the slot. A guy like Kalija Lipscomb 6'1" 201 lbs. from Vanderbilt (in the fourth) would do just fine IMO. Because he has outside size and speed but makes great cuts. He also could help out on special teams, eliminating the need for Ventrell Bryant.

I'm not a big proponent of drafting a slot receiver with a premium pick, but it's not a position we can just ignore. Maybe that player is already on the roster, but I can't figure out which guy that is.

I would think we'd move Cooper inside instead of drafting a guy who can only play slot.

Broaddus has repeatedly said that the Cowboys really like Wilson, and I believe him.

When he had his opportunities, I thought he looked really good. Slick route-runner, IMO. Main concern with him his injuries. Pretty slight build.

That being said, I still think we are looking at WR in rounds 3 or 4. There will be a lot of guys found in those rounds that would be 1st or 2nd rounders in other years. My pet cat is Van Jefferson. Not as high of upside of others, but the kid is a pro-ready WR#3.

I am curious to see if he makes a leap this season, he was basically a rookie last year after getting injured early in 2018.

Not sure they should count on him but he has some decent upside.

Yep. Probably would be best at WR #4. He was good on special teams if I remember correctly, and I nice option in case one of the top 3 get hurt.

The cupboard may not be bare, but I'd be worried about those spider webs accumuating.
