Well, it would mean we could consistently run to the right as opposed to always to the left on jumbo sets....

I think we would be in position to do a lot of things on offense. You probably wouldn't need to keep the tight end in as much and my guess is you probably wouldn't bee blitzed as much.

A defensive line that can get to the QB with 4 is priceless, but an offensive line that you don't need to help out with tight ends or running backs? Also priceless. Only the Cowboys could even imagine being in the position to make this possible after getting Collins last year for free.

That being said, I don't think he makes it beyond 3 unless they absolutely covet someone.

I love Bosa... I think he is one of the best players in the draft. Those that don't see it are not what I'd call "great talent evaluators".

He has consistently been the number one player on most "talent evaluators" sites. He has a motor comparalbe to JJ Watt or Aaron Donald. Guys with motors like that don't "bust". He comes from a family of football players and played exceptionally at the highest levels of college football. Plus he is a great scheme fit. Prototypical 43 DE.

To me if we land either Ramsey or Bosa at 4 we will get one of the three elite players in this draft.

I think he benefitted greatly by having players around him. He just reminds me of .....Bobby Carpenter. He has got the size, physical traits, attitude, and stats and highlights and all that........... but I don't think he is going to be the player people are saying he is going to be.....just my gut feeling. He really didn't "stand out" to me, when I watched my Buckeyes play...

When i saw the vines from his pro day, he looked very unbalanced. Not very smooth.

I just don't see the explosiveness and I think if you're just looking at tape in terms of athleticism, size and technique...Randy Gregory was far more impressive than Bosa in college. It's also tough to take him when you see the other players around where he is going to be drafted like Ramsey (world class athlete and great DB), Wentz, Jack, etc. I personally wouldn't mind a trade down if Ramsey isn't there and I would be thrilled if we somehow land Paxton Lynch. Wouldn't mind seeing Jerry get creative to make it so we can get Ramsey and Lynch in the first round.

Perusing the posts in the past weeks have led me to a single conclusion.

I think the overriding opinion here is that nobody really wants Joey Bosa with the 4th pick. We collectively smell a bust with this guy, at least compared to what a pick this high should be. I see folks that want Elliott, Ramsey, Jack, or Wentz/Goff. Trading down seems to be popular, too.

But not Bosa. And that includes me.

Why? What makes him so unattractive when the scouts say he's worthy of that pick?

Personally I think the kid will be a good one as he has produced every year and didn't disappoint as a high recruit out of HS like so many. I think he can be another Jared Allen, Michael Strahan type DE that will make an impact.

People don't like him because he doesn't have that sexy bust and bend around the corner like Ware or Miller. But people also forget that unless you can play the run in this league you are only a 3rd down specialist.

I think he's absolutely worth the fourth pick. I don't smell bust. I smell solid to great player.

I made the comparison of Bosa to Greg Ellis in early January and I still think that is the comp. A solid player but not a guy with upside, and that's assuming the drug rumors are false. I'm OK with that kind of pick at 24 but not at 4. I think Bosa will start dropping as the draft gets closer and be taken outside the top ten. If he went to the Chargers or a pick ahead of us, I'd be ecstatic.

Right now I think Myles Jack is the only guy worth the #4 pick. I may change my mind on Ramsey, I haven't studied him that much but if they think he can be a shutdown CB I'd be happy with him as the pick.

I have wanted a trade down from the start and haven't changed my mind.

I hope we thoroughly investigate the drug rumors. If there is ANY truth to them, we had better pass on him in the first round.

That's what scares me. I'm tired of potheads because they can cost you games by their absence. With the fourth pick in the draft, we need as close to elite and available as we can get.
Besides, Bosa sounds like a bulked up version of the guys on Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures.

If Tunsil is there at 4, and I see no way that's possible, but if he is.......

I have to believe that we could trade down with somebody. LTs with Pro Bowl ability are always in demand and if you have one there, somebody is going to be willing to move up to get him.

For me it's anyone but a QB. Myles Jack is starting to become my favorite. Then Elliott, Ramsey, Bosa, Buckner. In that order.

I like Jack...I'm just not sure what you'll get out of him. In our defense, he almost has to play the same position as Lee. I guess next year you could let McClain walk and move Lee back to MLB.

And we'd be smart to move down...otherwise, we move Tyron back to the right side. The only negative on Tunsil is he's not a great run blocker...he's definitely a true LT in pass protection...besides, we just drafted two more OT's last year. I don't see any way we'd take Tunsil.

How the heck are "we" suppose to maintain this current level of wildly ridiculous opinions of a player based on little or no credibility as a talent evaluator then?

I for one, know the scouts can't recognize talent as well as I, who studies the few videos I can hunt down for hours on end from my Lazyboy.

I would much rather they draft based on a pole of all the Cowboys fans and what they like best since we all know they know best.

We might want to prepare ourselves for a move UP.

As in, to the No. 1 pick to ensure they get Carson Wentz or Jared Goff, whomever they fancy.

My gut is, deep down, they don't want to be left at the alter with no backup plan if Romo's collar bone goes wonky again.

Do you really think they will do that? Or hope they are thinking of doing that?
