Stash, the Dallas rumor makes plenty of sense. Moving up to the 3rd spot to nab Mcfadden, they also need another young CB so why wouldn't Jerry kill two birds with one stone?

They drafted Bobby Taylor.
The rest is just as flawed.

DeAngelo Hall is "overrated" just like Leonard Davis was called "overrated" last year. Just because you think he's "overrated" (whatever that means) doesn't mean he's not a good football and has a world of physical potential.

While many of you may be under the illusion Hall has no skill what so ever, he is a young talented corner that would be teaming up with another young and talented CB behind a consistant pass rush.
He won't have to be spectacular to have a big impact on a team like that. The Giants defense is much better than the Falcons D.
I didn't really want him here, for the price he was asking anyway, but I would be much happier to see him in a Bills uniform or something.
Chocolate Lab;1970630 said:Hall definitely does have tons of athletic ability, but he gambles way too much, he's a horrendous tackler, and as far as I'm concerned he's a lousy teammate. I know Coughlin loosened the reins a bit this year, but I still can't see him meshing well with the Kommandant's attitude. As soon as Hall got away from the most lax coach in history (Mora Jr.), he went berzerk on his coach.
AND he's going to get paid a fortune.
He's a total d-bag as far as I'm concerned. I'm surprised the Giants would want him, not so much for the last pick in the first round, but for all the money he'll get.
In fact, I wouldn't even be so sure this story is legit until something is official.

Given that, according to FO.com, the Falcons ranked 10th in the league last year against other team's #1 WRs. We were 18th. I've already said I'd be pretty excited if Dallas got ahold of him. Similarly, I wouldn't be that thrilled with NY getting ahold of him, no matter how bad TO makes him his *****.
theebs;1970922 said:I dont think anyone thinks he is bad. He is obviously one of the more talented cbs in the league.
you have to pay him though and then deal with his attitude. I am sure his attitude this year was because of the losing. I give him a pass for some of that, but he is a bad guy to mix in with this locker room. I would be willing to bet lots of players dislike him.
HIm going to the giants makes them stronger for sure, but not unbeatable or anything. The giants may also be doing this as a pre-cursor to moves the eagles, cowboys and Commanders may make at wr in free agency. IF we were to trade for roy williams, the last thing I would be concerned with is deangelo hall, but it would be the first thing the giants would worry about.
superpunk;1970954 said:I don't think there were any questions about his locker room presence until he clashed with a coach who bailed on his team after 10 games and didn't know how (or even attempt to, according to reports) interact with NFL players. If you read about Petrino there was literally no way to contact him. He was like the mafia don off somewhere with all these buffers around him, never to be questioned or approached about anything.
So I don't know where you would get the impression that alot of players dislike him. I know that perception existed with TO, but his former teammates by and large loved him.
To me, the only downside of pulling a deal like what NY is contemplating is the ensuing (necessary) contract. Guys like Hall and Samuel seem like perfect fits for the pressure defenses run in Dallas and NY.
