Stash, the Dallas rumor makes plenty of sense. Moving up to the 3rd spot to nab Mcfadden, they also need another young CB so why wouldn't Jerry kill two birds with one stone?

Makes sense to some folks maybe.

To me it's another connect-the-dots rumor during the slower-paced offseason.

McFadden and DeAngelo Hall?

A nightmare for me.

Personally, I wouldn't want either of those 'two birds'...

Dang, I highly doubt that they need another character on that team.

Problem is if they overpay for Hall, We will have to pay Newman even more money to keep him. Price just goes up.

Eagles signed Troy Vincent from Miami.

They drafted Bobby Taylor.

The rest is just as flawed.

Next time I'll just give you my ID and Password and let you edit it directly.

Their pass defense dominated our pass offense in the playoffs with a bunch of nobodies and fill ins at CB. Not really looking forward to them getting DeAngelo Hall.

DeAngelo Hall is "overrated" just like Leonard Davis was called "overrated" last year. Just because you think he's "overrated" (whatever that means) doesn't mean he's not a good football and has a world of physical potential.

This is based on the illusion that the Giants had no pass rush.

Hall definitely does have tons of athletic ability, but he gambles way too much, he's a horrendous tackler, and as far as I'm concerned he's a lousy teammate. I know Coughlin loosened the reins a bit this year, but I still can't see him meshing well with the Kommandant's attitude. As soon as Hall got away from the most lax coach in history (Mora Jr.), he went berzerk on his coach.

AND he's going to get paid a fortune.

He's a total d-bag as far as I'm concerned. I'm surprised the Giants would want him, not so much for the last pick in the first round, but for all the money he'll get.

In fact, I wouldn't even be so sure this story is legit until something is official.

A good guess at what is happening could be that one media outlet seen the rumor about Moss going to Dallas so immediately they thought "hmmm better throw a bone out there that a divisional rival is looking for help in the secondary".

I'd rather he went in another division.

While many of you may be under the illusion Hall has no skill what so ever, he is a young talented corner that would be teaming up with another young and talented CB behind a consistant pass rush.

He won't have to be spectacular to have a big impact on a team like that. The Giants defense is much better than the Falcons D.

I didn't really want him here, for the price he was asking anyway, but I would be much happier to see him in a Bills uniform or something.

Very well put Count. Hall is not Deion Sanders or Champ Bailey but he sure is better than any CB not named Terrence Newman on the Dallas roster. With the aggressive defense the Giants play and with their pass rush, he and Ross will be a very good tandem.

That said, I don't want Dallas to trade for him at all. Draft a CB in round 1 and see if Florence is willing to come over from SD or if Springs is released from Washington.

Yeah, while I think it would be fun to see T.O. potentially burn him again, I wouldn't like the chances of that happening nearly as much on a Giants team with a tremendous pass rush as I would if Hall stayed in Atlanta where he has exactly zero help anywhere else in the secondary and no pass rush from an awful front line.

I think he is a very good player. He has the potential to be great.

However I cant stand him and I think he is the kind of jerk that breaks up the kind of locker room unity this team has. He is the polar opposite of barber, romo, canty, columbo, gurode, witten etc.

He is a rick with a p. I think he adds an incredible amount of talent to the giants secondary but they are playing with fire if he struggles at some point and becomes public enemy number 1. NY is not atlanta. People actually care about sports in NY.

He fits in with the douchebags they already have on that team and I for one would love the chance to beat him twice a year. NO matter what happened in the playoffs.

Well we did have TO coming off a high-ankle sprain, and Terry Glenn working with a busted knee. Let's not forget that if TR had one second to throw the ball, Miles Austin would have had an easy TD.

let's not forget that PC also dropped the ball while being wide-open for a TD on one... oh, and Tony Romo missing TO in a wide-open crossing route for a TD...

As bad as we all think Hall is, they match him up pretty consistently on other team's #1 WRs in Atlanta, which not alot of teams do. Given that, according to FO.com, the Falcons ranked 10th in the league last year against other team's #1 WRs. We were 18th. I've already said I'd be pretty excited if Dallas got ahold of him. Similarly, I wouldn't be that thrilled with NY getting ahold of him, no matter how bad TO makes him his *****.

I dont think anyone thinks he is bad. He is obviously one of the more talented cbs in the league.

you have to pay him though and then deal with his attitude. I am sure his attitude this year was because of the losing. I give him a pass for some of that, but he is a bad guy to mix in with this locker room. I would be willing to bet lots of players dislike him.

HIm going to the giants makes them stronger for sure, but not unbeatable or anything. The giants may also be doing this as a pre-cursor to moves the eagles, cowboys and Commanders may make at wr in free agency. IF we were to trade for roy williams, the last thing I would be concerned with is deangelo hall, but it would be the first thing the giants would worry about.

I don't know why they'd do this. I firmly believe their current CB roster is as good or better, IMO. Webster pissed me off alot this season.......which is good for the Giants.

I don't think there were any questions about his locker room presence until he clashed with a coach who bailed on his team after 10 games and didn't know how (or even attempt to, according to reports) interact with NFL players. If you read about Petrino there was literally no way to contact him. He was like the mafia don off somewhere with all these buffers around him, never to be questioned or approached about anything.

So I don't know where you would get the impression that alot of players dislike him. I know that perception existed with TO, but his former teammates by and large loved him.

To me, the only downside of pulling a deal like what NY is contemplating is the ensuing (necessary) contract. Guys like Hall and Samuel seem like perfect fits for the pressure defenses run in Dallas and NY.

yeah, like I said I give him and his teammates a pass for hating petrino.

I just think he has an attitude I wouldnt want on this team. I also thought owens had that same attitude and didnt want him on the team (and still dont like him).

His skillset is a good fit here or ny or philly. I just wont be dissapointed if he is not a cowboy, relieved and happy even though it means tougher sledding for Dallas in the division. I think that could be the first of a couple of big deals for the nfc east. So maybe hall is the yin to either Dallas, Washington or philly's yang at wr signing.

and yea his contract and newmans contracts would be too much to ask of one team I would think.

Hall has been a tool since way before Petrino ever saw Atlanta. He said a couple of years ago that his goal was to break the bank on his next contract. (Not verbatim but close enough.) He's the epitome of the loudmouthed, brash, idiot corner that Deion helped create... Thanks, Prime.

Like theebs said, Hall has been somewhat protected by playing for a bad Atlanta team that isn't seen much nationally. I was happy to hear one of the young guys on The Huddle this week argue against Clayton -- who was claiming he was a great player -- and say that Hall had a great rookie year, but he's regressed since then and he sure gets beat a lot for a so-called "premier" corner that wants 10 million dollars a year. All of which is true.

There seems to be a perception with some people that if someone doesn't like Hall, it's because of all the debates about him vs. Newman, but that simply isn't true. There was a blurb somewhere that if Hall cost too much, they would look into getting Trufant though some kind of trade. Now there's a good young corner I'd like to have. He's at least as good as Hall -- probably a much better all-around player -- who isn't an embarrassing spectacle. And there are others. But Hall just isn't worth what some stupid team is going to pay him when you consider everything about him.
