Hey, another let's give up a draft pick(s) forRichardson thread. This has been discussed over and over.
Now if they want to give a 7th rounder, since we waste them on future player types anyway. Then I will be ok with this. But not a 4th. Despite ones opinion on previous 4th rounders, you do not this trade.
Glad you are not any way associated with making team decisions. :D

I'll be glad when free agency is over. Maybe then we can discuss legitimate opportunities (NFL draft) to improve the overall quality of our beloved football team.

Any position can be upgraded, but DT was the strength of the defense last season. Lol at your not realizing it.

Even if I agreed with you, which I don't, just because you make the argument that the DT position was the strength of the defense last year...it was on a defense that was not great last year despite the numbers.

We had zero DTs with pro-bowl or all pro play last year. I honestly doubt we have people at DT last year that would be starters on even half of the other rosters in the NFL.

DT is without a Doubt a position of Need of upgrading. Esp if you are losing your best DT in TM. The only other DT on the roster that has shown starting promise to me is Collins as a Rook. We could use better DTs at both the 1 and the 3 tech.

I worry about Barwin being able to be a 4-3 DE.

Just for the record...When I post these updates about this or that player on defense I don't mean for the Cowboys to sign. Just posting defensive players that are hitting the market that were not on the original list.

It would be a 1 year rental since I believe he is set to be FA after this year.

Actually DE is. We have plenty DTs

We have plenty of rotational backup type DTs and some of them double as DEs as well.

Besides Collins who appears that he might be a steal and good player...We don't have any All Pro, or Pro Bowl quality DTs on this Roster IMO. We could easily improve on a 1 tech and We could probably improve on the 3...at very worst we should be able to improve on our depth even if it is just one or two players.

We can agree to disagree then. Between Collins, McClain, Thornton, and with Crawford moving back inside, DT is a relatively deep position for us. Even losing McClain, if we do, it's not a huge need.

As I said, I'm not opposed to upgrading anywhere if there's an opportunity to do so, but Richardson is a natural 3 tech, which a substance abuse suspension history, who was benched by his former team for consistently being late to meetings. Sound familiar?

He's an outstanding talent, but would be an expensive use of resources at a position where we already have two capable young players. And he'd cost a draft pick.

Spend those resources elsewhere.

The Eagles like most 3-4 teams play a 4 man line in Nickle and dime.

The only real distinction nowadays between 3-4 and 4-3 is in base D which teams are in 25%-30% of the time

I like him. Both as a player and a person. I wonder if he might be a consolation, bargain-bin option for the pass rush?
Coming off a 5 sack season his value may be low.

3 year 21 million dollar deal is reasonable. I think for a pass rusher, that could be well within there price range
