A restaurant that never opened can't be closed, or something like that.

Good article from Jaaaake. Life moves fast in the NFL. Teams if their lucky get a 3-5 year window to do something. Our time has passed with this core. Some of these teams that have been drafting high for several years will now get their turn. Dumb & Dumber will be the last ones to figure this out.

Cowboys are the 3rd youngest team in the nfl. Will get younger with this draft.

That is a clickbait article. The reason you have short windows is because you have 2-3 successful drafts in a 2-3 year period and your window is until it is time for those guys to get paid and the new guys (who because you are drafting lower are generally not as good) become the new core. Your core in this case being players in years 2-4. That is why a window is considered 3-5 years. However the core players on defense are all under rookie contracts and the best offensive weapon is under contract. The question for the Cowboys is whether they can add new weapons to replace well Cooper and if they can then the window will be open about 2 more years before the core gets replaced (assuming the drafts are worse).

I struggle to say that the window is closed....with that said this isn't a simple solution to add a player in free agency that can put them over the top. The Cowboys have a lot of tough cap related decisions to make, and are faced with a reality that they are going to get worse this offseason before they have a chance to get better.

Reality is the Cowboys will have to either get really lucky in 2nd/3rd year guys stepping up and hitting on multiple players in the draft once again or they will have to get creative somewhere. Maybe that's a new OC? Maybe thats doing something with Dak? No idea what the best answer is, but we have seen what the status quo for this team is, and while its pretty good, its just not good enough.

I think 7 years is fair enough. It will take a couple of years but the team should start looking now.
They should start looking now. But in a few years Lamb, Parsons, and Diggs will
command huge salaries and than it will even out even with a rookie QB.

They have to get rid of Zeke though. Yes he had 12 TD’s last year but he’s just being an overpriced progress stopper now.

In this day of "parody" the window is never closed for any team.......but man you need the right scheme and QB to win it all......I just don't think we have that.......plus a lot of these young ones will be off their rookie deals here soon

back to back 12 win seasons from a team thats still young.
i don't think we've approached our window yet.
There’s no reason to think the window has closed
There are moves they can make to clear cap space and add weapons
The only way the window is closed is if they decide to blow it up and totally rebuild and Jerry ain’t gonna do that
He’s to old

agreed.
and when i said we haven't approached our window yet....to me that super bowl window opens when you make the conference title game.
that game last week vs the 9ers showed we're close.
real close.
just not yet.
this is a young team with a bright future.

I didn’t read the article but teams would kill to have Parsons, CeeDee, Tyler, Diggs, and Steele to build around. All are 25 and under. I don’t know if the Eagles or 49ers have that much young talent. Call me crazy but Hurts and Purdy don’t scare me like Burrow, Lawrence, and Herbert would.
