If we have a window it's not closed. This team is young and the core will remain intact. Keep adding through the draft and make smart FA choices.
The division is tougher than it has been. The Eagles and Giants are in the ascendant. Hell, even the Commanders gave the Cowboys fits in the final game. It won't be easy to sweep the division anymore...and that means the Cowboys could end up on the road again in future playoffs. So in that instance the window has closed a bit. The past two years were REALLY wasted, especially the performance of the defense (plethora of turnovers).

Good article from Jaaaake. Life moves fast in the NFL. Teams if their lucky get a 3-5 year window to do something. Our time has passed with this core. Some of these teams that have been drafting high for several years will now get their turn. Dumb & Dumber will be the last ones to figure this out.

It's a good article but for a few things. If they extend Lamb, it won't be 40M between him and Gallup. If they gave Lamb an extension right now, his 2023 cap hit would be 4.4M plus 1/4 signing bonus on a 4 year deal. Something like that. Then the 5th year option, then starts the extension the year after that. There are at least 2 more years before that 40M combined cap hit begins.

The other thing is, was there ever a real window? The front office runs the off season in a way that prevents hitting rock bottom or getting really good. We seem to hover between average to good, never great.

This defense gave us a great window , its terrible that it was wasted with an offense under Kellen Moore.

I agree, if they were to win one it'd happen by now. I dont think they really care to win

Wow some of the same people who said Dak has no weapons are now proclaiming one of the youngest teams in the NFL.

What window. That window opens when they get to a championship game. They haven’t seen a window since 96.

back to back 12 win seasons from a team thats still young.
i don't think we've approached our window yet.
Well, considering how many years we've come up short, if the window is open, I'm not sure we know how to get through it at this point.

But I agree that we've got a lot of young players. And it's really kind of silly at this point to think that any team's window is closed considering how fast teams rise and fall now in this league with free agency. The Rams last year (and this year) are a good example of that. All it takes are a few key moves and you can swing that window open. It's just too bad that our owner doesn't really believe in used free agency.

You believe what you read and give up. Quitters quit. It’s just their DNA. We won’t miss you.

:laugh:Imagine thinking there is a window for this team.

GM, Coach, QB. Cowboys are awful at the 3 most important positions in football.
Yep, as Ive often said. These are the 3 foundational pieces to NFL success and Dallas's current position holders are sorely lacking.

No I'll be here just to irritate you. Saying I told you so. lol

Actually I was gone pretty much for 2 years and surprise nothing changed.
1)Don’t underestimate your power to irritate A LOT of people.
2)The nonstop crying irritates people, not your “I told you so’s”, because many normal fans roll their eyes at your takes.

Our time is just starting. Which is why it's so important we get a QB who can take us over the hump.

Don't really matter to me. I roll my eyes at a bunch of people too. It is what it is. If I can put up with it they can.

Bart Starr
Len Dawson
Johnny Unitas
Roger Staubach
Ken Stabler
Terry Bradshaw
Jim Plunkett
Joe Montana
Joe Theismann
Phil Simms
Steve Young
Doug Williams
John Elway
Tom Brady

All of these QBs won titles after turning 30. You are posting disinformation.
You are obfuscating. Many QBs on your list won it before 30 as well. Others, like Elway made it too the SB before 30. List the guys who made it to and won their first SB after 30.

What core is there after Micah and CeeDee?
