Yes Emmitt Smith in 1995 after the 0-2 Start

Emmitt Smith didnt hold out his contract ended.

You can not hold out if you are not under contract

JJ should of signed Ware before FA, his value just went up a few million a year.

Yup, I don't know what's taking these guys so long really. We could probably have had him for 100 mil or a little less before Haynesworth signed.

Ware's people probably wanted to see what the FA market looked like before signing. Also We needed to clear some money 1st. He would make our top 51 go up.

Is there anything stopping a team that wants to sign a franchise player from moving down in the draft so that their first round picks are lower? For example, a team could move down from #15 to #32 and pick up a third rounder, and then use #32 as part of the compensation package to sign a franchise player.

That's interesting, the only problem is that when you sign a franchise player the return compensation is due that year. You would have to get the draft trade of 15 for 32 done now if you wanted to use that as compensation to sign a franchise player this year. Also I believe that once the player sign's the franchise Tender then that locks the player into a guaranteed 1 year deal. I don't think you can sign him away after he sign's the Tender. I could be mistaken someone will let us know I'm sure.
