The last 4 divisional round playoff games the Cowboys won; they eventually jumped out to big leads.

Dak and the Cowboys should try that next time they play a divisional round playoff game.

I.e., Dak and the offense on most of their first half drives; drive down the field scoring points.

Definitely not making excuses for anyone. Dak definitely has to step it up in a major way.

But I'm talking about that first niners playoff game.

What other quarterback in NFL history played on a team that committed 14, 15 penalties in the playoffs vs a top 3 defense and still won?

Let's toss opinions out the window and SHOW ME facts. Like what other quarterback has ever did this thing that you expected Dak to do? Has it been done before, that's a yes or no.
Yes. In fact, Romo did it in 2009. Joe Montana too
Interestingly enough, this was the fifth time in NFL postseason history a team committed 14 penalties in game -- but the first time that team lost.

And this is a great find!! So only 5 quarterbacks in NFL history have done this. Was it against top 3 defenses like the 49ers when Dak faced them 2 years ago??

For some reason I can't find that top 3 defense that those other quarterbacks overcame for the win after 14 penalties.

Until you show me that, I still commend your efforts because you're bringing FACTS.

There has been thousands of quarterbacks to have come along in the 100 year history and only a handful have done it. Seems pretty difficult.

22/33
66%
226 yards
1 TD
1 INT
83.6 rating

This is good QB play? Interesting considering Rush put up similar stat lines (without the INT) and the Dak coalition swore we won because of our defense.
Also a rushing td and a win. Playoffs ain't about stats, I thought that's what yall all say? That stats mean nothing, I hear it hear all the time. And last I checked, that stat line was good enough for a win. Your idol is a fictional character in a movie lol.

“Playoffs aint about stats”….Cool

So where are all the wins at? 2-4 playoff record in 7 years as a starter.

“He won the game” lol

So when Tony Romo had his infamous 5-pick game vs Buffalo, we should pretend that he played well because the team won?

The OP, strategically showed his raw #s as evidence that Dak only struggles against the numbers. Even though, his games against the Bucs and Packers heavily skew these numbers. Now when I show his numbers against the other teams he played, im being hypocritical??
Nobody pretends Romo played good in that game lmao   People really need to stop making up arguments in yall own heads.

Which proves that championships are won by teams and not individuals. Aikman, Emmitt, and the o-line alone did not win Super Bowls. They won them together.

Yet today every loss is because of Dak Prescott and every win is because of the rest of the team or the "other team sucks". It's beyond ridicuous.
These casuals just expose themselves, they only know 1 position in the league.

Why would you base it on years when my thread is on opponents? Make your own thread on years if you want.

Plus the last 2 years we played the Niners, so our comparisons are meeting in the middle with the exception of you adding a Tampa game which was essentially the best playoff performance of his career. How could he be regressing if he just had his best playoff game ever in 2022?

It’s pretty clear he just struggles versus the niners.
Because he hates Dak and has an agenda to twist the facts in order to satisfy his angry heart. That's why.

Dak’s last two games against the 49ers (especially the last one against Brock Purdy) was not that good.

When Barry rushed for -1 yards on 13 carries in the playoffs against a team he rushed for 188 yards a few weeks earlier; it definitely did not help his team win

Aikman and Emmitt both elevated their play in the playoffs.

Thus, their playoff stats are better than their regular season ones (Aikman more so during the 3 SB out of 4 years run).

“Troy Aikman had a passer rating of 106.3 with 2,915 yards, 21 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in 11 games in the playoffs between the 1992 and 1995 seasons.”

“Troy Aikman had a passer rating of 111.9 with 689 yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 interception in 3 games in Super Bowls in his career.”

In the playoffs, Smith’s YPC & rushing yards and TDs per game were higher than Barry’s, Walter’s, Jim’s, LT’s, and so on.
Troy Aikman had the best starters and backups during those SB playoffs. Dak did not. Quite the opposite last year. That's the difference. That's not to say Dak didn't commit some bone headed decisions a few times, but overall, if Dak had the team Troy had during those 90s SB playoffs, the Cowboys easily would have beat the 49ers the past 2 playoff seasons.

Dak’s performances the last two seasons versus the Niners have created a narrative that Dak is a bad playoff QB. When in fact, he’s just been bad against the Niners.

Dak Playoffs vs 49ers
  • 0-2
  • 57.5% Completion
  • 230 yards/game
  • 2 TD, 3 INT
  • 66.7 Pass Rating

Dak Playoffs vs Everyone Else
  • 2-2
  • 66.9% Completion
  • 274.8 yards/game
  • 9 TD, 2 INT
  • 107.4 Pass Rating

We quite possibly make an NFCCG if we avoid them the last two years. But to be the conference champ and SB representative you have to beat the best.

The Niners have arguably the best roster in football top to bottom; certainly in the top 3. There are only going to be a few QB’s on earth who can beat those type of teams consistently. We need to have our own version of an elite team and competitive coaching, which I think we may now have.

Hopefully our offensive additions and defensive fortitude are enough to get over the hump this year. We played them better last year than the year before.

If there’s a world where we don’t play them, Dak has shown he can play more than well enough to win.
STATS DON'T WIN GAMES........... WENTZ 2.0 is an over hyped, overpaid, less than mediocre bum!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, year 8.

He's 30 years old though. Damn.

So are you saying every good or great quarterback won a superbowl before 30?? Please don't set yourself up for failure, because I could end that argument real early.

You haven't ended an argument since you showed up here. Lol

Forget Super Bowls. Dak hasn't played a single good game against a good defense in a meaningful game in his career.
