Dak’s third down rating

Yes yes.

ESPN is wrong
Next gen is wrong
PFF is wrong
Stats is wrong

Everybody that does this for a living is wrong
I get it now. All of them are in collusion with their stats to make Dak look bad. Of course how silly.

Let's sue em.

In all fairness, if it was just one stat company I could believe it. When it's multiple pretty much saying the same thing, there's truth to it
LP, we know you don't like Dak. That's ok, but like I said, those stat companies don't take into account or state how many of those failed 3rd down conversions were initially converted but brought back due to penalties or dropped passes, etc. The one stat about there being only 1 dropped pass is a farce since off the bat...Zeke dropped a key open 3rd down pass and Gallop dropped/got stripped another pass for an INT.

My bro. I wouldn't say I don't like him. I just want him to perform better and if he can't I'd rather know now then later.

I'll let the stats speak for themselves but I will say this, I like how we can all have a lively discussion and still remain civil. We are all passionate about the Cowboys and want the best for the team.

I tell you what if he performs well against thenTexans im gonna search for every positive tweet and analytics about his performance in that game and start a thread. That would seem fair and that's the way i roll.

Have a good weekend man

I like Dak. I haven’t written him off yet, but I’m very, very worried at this point. Even the Detroit game that to most was a step in the right direction still gives me pause because by today’s NFL standards I thought it was a very “B-“ type game and I don’t like the thought that the ceiling for our QB just might be B-. But time will tell on that.

But for the blind Dak supporters, I truly am at a loss. It’s clear he’s been the problem with the offense thus far. Not 100% of the problem obviously, but by far the biggest problem. The excuses provided for Dak just don’t ring true. Because Tyron isn’t perfect, he somehow is now a liability to Dak. Well the metrics say otherwise. The receivers are dropping the ball all over the place. Well the metrics say otherwise. The OL isn’t giving Dak time. Well the metrics say otherwise. The OL doesn’t blow open holes anymore. Well the metrics say otherwise. Then when presented with the metrics you get “that can’t be right.” It really is hilarious. No one is saying the Dak supporters have to give up on him. But to be in denial that he’s mostly played like a bottom 5 QB to this point especially in the face of all of that data is baffling.

I appreciate the posting of these stats. Some are surprising. Some are not.

Some stats are a bit subjective though, so to count them as reliable is problematic.

1. Thanks to the OP for sending the time puttung these stats together.
2. I am not a huge stat guy but the fact so many if these lead back to the same person(s) is very troubling.

I was trying, I was REALLY trying to root for Dak and have him prove everybody wrong but.......OUCH!!!! Those are not good stats. Like, at all. I'm still willing to give him the rest of the season to try and right the ship but if things don't improve I am going to be banging on the table for a new QB. Unfortunately, I don't see this FO doing so. It's like they can't admit when they were wrong *cough* Garrett *cough*.

...and the unwritten stat, which is not monitored, and the one that applies to all QB's across the board since the NFL made it priority number one. Protect the QB's at all costs. Aikman, Cunningham, Young, Elway, Flutie, Marino, etc. never had the QB protection by the REF's we see today. The receivers back then were not protected by the REF's as they are today. The NFL directed this league so there would be more passing and better conditions to pass the ball.

My take away from analyzing these stats, the Cowboys have a significant issue at QB.

Honestly, other than Elliott and much of the OL, they have an issue on offense and that includes the coaches.

They need to blow up the passing aspect of our team it seems and start over.

I think they have a solid group of #2 to #5 receivers. They just need to add a legitimate #1 receiver and a legitimate starting caliber pass catching TE. Swaim is a fine #2 / blocking TE. No need to blow those positions up IMO. Trim the fat and add a couple of #1s at WR & TE (I know, easier said than done).

I’ve thought the drops excuse was overblown and it appears that’s true.
One thing about the drops. I assume the Gallup play against Seattle was not a drop, yet it did cost dak a pick. I’m sure it happens to other teams too but thought I’d point it out.

This can be said for every single QB in the league and i would bet that none of these stats would change much if any if the bolded stats were taken into consideration

He's not lying though, I would be curious to see how many 3 & +10 yards we've had compared to others in the league. We have been getting killed by penalties and getting behind the chains this year.
