Anyone remember this quote from a few years ago? It still holds true.
"I don't know if any team in the league necessarily needs a No. 1 receiver," Prescott said via Pro Football Talk. "It's about getting the ball out, spreading the ball around, keeping the defense on its toes."

This is what has been drilled into Daks head since he came into the NFL. This is our style of football. From JG, to KM, and now from Big Mike. Spreading the ball around is all Dak can do. Distributing the ball to 10 different guys is why it doesn't make since to pay any WR big money in Dallas. Get ready guys, because if we still have the same philosophy in a couple of years, CeeDee will walk also. I love Coop, but he’s better off now to spend the rest of his career someplace where he is allowed to dominate at a WR1.

we could certainly use a QB1

Dak said that before the 2018 season after we released Bryant, and he did so well that year that we went out and traded for Amari (after 7 games without a "number one"). Look at the game logs. He averaged 202 yards passing per game, the team was 3-4. Apparently we needed a #1 then, and we will next year (though he could be on the roster in Lamb). Arguably the talent is better, but we will have to see what it looks like without Amari.

I have no problem with trading Amari given his salary, but to say that our previous experiment with no "number 1" receiver (based on Dak's statement prior to that season) was anything but a failure would be laughably wrong.
CeeDee will not look as good because defenses were rolling coverage towards Cooper not Lamb. Now that Lamb will be the guy, he will learn quickly how hard it is to get open and how hard it is for Dak to throw the ball to a "covered" guy. Lamb will regret the team getting rid of Cooper and so will Dak.

So now Dak is running the team? Man the stretch armstrongs some use here to reach for narratives is golden....26 years and some of you still dont know who is running this team, Jerry drafted #88 then made him dress up how he liked his #1 WR and now he is literally making sure he is the #1 WR...but sure its Dak, because you know its always Dak.

Some QB's don't need a #1 because they're going to look off NFL open trying to find college open. See how much he likes Lamb with the #1 CB on him and no doubles.

Ask Rodgers if he needs Adams, Mahomes if he needs Hill, Allen if he needs Diggs, Murray or Watson if they need Hopkins, Burrow if he needs Chase or Stafford if he needs Kupp.

Bot don't ask Prescott because he'll just try and sell you the company line. 40M a year buys a lot of Amen corner.

You were getting Lamb as the #1 the minute he was drafted and told to dress up like Playmaker...again Dak may have givin the company line 4 years ago but highley doubt he is the one who wanted Cooper gone.

Dak was doing damage control for this teams silly approach to the 2018 with no number one. Btw, Amari didn’t walk. He was shown the door.

I don't know about that as Cooper made some comments about targeting and he was right. He was open and not getting the ball his way, NFL open.

he made vague comments that strongly talked about how he was used in the offense....seems more pointed at OC than QB, again the moment Jerry dressed up the new toy in Irvin clothes you should've known he was getting the ball. Cooper was probably pissed because he saw this also. There is a reason Lamb had more targets...Jerry told his boy genius and Cooper was tired of it by the end.

LOL. He hasn't dominated in years. Had only two 1,000 yard seasons in his 4 years with Dallas. Missed crucial games last year. On & off foot issues. PLEEZ!

He'd already been in the league for several years, but before Stafford got to LA, nobody ever called Cooper Kupp a WR1

His stats went up 80+% when he got a stud QB

You can do just fine with 2 quality WRs and a bunch of WR3 or WR4s.

Then again, a great QB or overall offense can give a very good WR great WR1 numbers.
