Dak - a balanced thread

Lol sure he did, he almost gift wrapped the game for the rams on a dropped int that in every way shape or form should have been picked off and taken for 6. I’m sure you blotted that from you’re memory
What kind of BS point is that?
"Almost?"

I wasn't referring to your post, I was quoting Risen Star's post, which you replied to and said it was an "honest evaluation" of Dak. Did you disagree with Risen Star's post? If not then why did you agree with him?

I replied to Verdicts post and said that was an honest evaluation.

Almost INTS count as much as almost TDS. cmon man.

Accuracy is good
Footwork can be taught
Pocket presence can be taught
He already reads the defense well, highlighted by his historically low INT #'s
Too many sacks is the exact same as pocket presence lmao, but good try double dipping

Mike White doesnt have more arm strength lol, talk about not know the players and hoping it sticks.

What were you saying?

Let's stop the fan boy nonsense. This is the Dallas Cowboys. Some of you are just too young to know what that used to mean.

QB is the premier position in all of sports. The Dallas Cowboys are supposed to be the premier franchise in football. The fact that the Cowboys would now look for a new franchise QB and settle on a stiff like Dak Prescott should sicken anyone with an ounce of credibility as a fan. All I read over and over is what he can't do and how that's okay we can work around that. What the hell kind of plan is that for the Dallas Cowboys in search of their franchise QB? That's Cincinnati Bengals thinking. I don't want a guy who can't do things. I don't want to settle at the position. That shouldn't be plan A. I want a real talent who allows you to get by at other positions not other positions allowing them to get by at his own. I don't want a college offense. I want a real QB who can play real pro football.

We are already saddled with the worst Owner and GM in sports, a complete fraud at Director of Personnel and a weak Head Coach. The thought of being okay with adding a mediocre at best QB to that mix is baffling to me.

Why? Just cause Go Cowboys! and stuff?

You are supporting a QB who can't throw the football.

I repeat - You are supporting a QB who can't throw the football.

If for whatever reason Dak Prescott is on your roster and your starter goes down, then you look to get by and tailor a gimmick offense around him and his lack of any talent. Then it makes sense to read the things I read about him every day. Well, they just mean until our starter gets back. But to watch him play for three years and think this is the guy you want under center for the next 10 years as the future of our offense is an opinion I just can't take seriously.

A QB who can't throw the football.

The Dallas bleepin Cowboys.

Thank God Tom Landry isn't around to see this.

Yep you are 100% correct! We have a QB with more flaws than a lemon used car.........year 4 will be his last as the project Dak Prescott will come to a end.

P.S. Coaching needs Talent or else its just a waste of time......

I've watched the agendas on here saying Dak sucks so bad he should have never been drafted. Then others say he is the best in stats or whatever.

As a fan I'd love him to be the absolute best but he isn't. But he is far from the worst. What he is, is a QB that hasn't figured it all out yet and may not ever do so or he may become a SB QB

The reality is that none of us really know. What we know is that as fans we want and need him to get better every year to get to where we all want to get. Nobody will win the discussion now because the future has yet to be written. Let's cross our fingers that he develops and takes us to the promise land while we treat each other with respect.

What is clear...for what it is worth.

Dak is the best QB to come out of the 2016 draft class.

I agree, it's become more of an insult than a descriptor. But in this case, a couple of posters here speak of Dak with such vitriol and venom, you'd think he was Osama Bin Laden. They say harsher things about him than I say about Michael Vick, who's a complete POS.
Vicks a nice person. I know him. I know he did wrong but I guess people can't improve themselves or change?

Maybe you mean "some say he sucks, and some say he's elite." Those are opinions, in other words.

"Best in stats" is different because it can be proven one way or another, and of course it depends on the stat. It's not a matter of opinion. For example, his passer rating ranks 8th since he entered the league. His 3rd/4th down passer rating ranks 13th. His 3rd/4th down passer rating late in a close game ranks 2nd, etc.

These are all facts that can inform opinions.

I'm a dog lover. Anyone who could do what he did is only pretending to be a nice person, IMO, and it would take extreme self reflection to change. Sorry if he's your friend, but he'd have to do a lot, for me to believe he's a better person than he was before prison.

Watched them both again. He played ok. Didn't do anything to elevate the team. Missed on many 'got to have' plays that would have made a difference in a close game.

Terrible interception in the GB game was costly.
In both post season games, he played well enough to win those games. I never claimed he was perfect, but if we're being fair the defense collapsed in both games. I also think it's disingenuous to suggest he didn't do anything to elevate the team. He scored TDs in both games. That's doing something to elevate the team.

Good post..........but there are a couple of folks here who hate Dak, and exaggerate so much that I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone said he shouldn't have been drafted.
When you have people that say he isn't an NFL QB, that's the same thing as saying he shouldn't have been drafted. People get too high and too low on him.

He's completed 3 years. How much longer is this supposed to take?

I agree he needs better coaching. He won't be getting it this year. So I expect much the same as we have seen. Some good, some bad. Average overall.
I don't think we're ever going to win anything until the coaches change with or without Dak.

You're going to have your views but using your logic everybody that does wrong is just pretending to be nice. I'm sure you can see how that logic doesn't work but on this topic you probably don't care. He has self reflected but truth is it will never be good enough for you and that's your right. Being realistic what could he do where you'd say he'd change? That's why it's a sounds good saying but in actual application doesn't work out imo. Again your entitled to your view as you know just when you actually know someone and a person that doesn't just goes by the worse they've done as a judgment on them overall you feel you have to at least get their side out. Thanks for your reply.
