Not when your defense

Neither has Brady, he went to a loaded team and a coach that won a SB before.

You quoting two different people, and my comment has nothing to do with anyone elses comment and opinion. I'm not part of a collective or anything. >.>

It wasn't that long ago that some here were saying Wentz was better than Dak because he had a SB ring... go figure.

Even worse, in 2016 some of us -- me -- thought that both Dak and Wentz would be that generation QBs to take the place of Brady and Payton. Neither has lived up to the initial hype. Dak is the better QB and a good one at that but not elite.

dont have a historicly bad defense for garbage time dak to pad his # any more sorry

haha jk

but not really

You have no historical context.

1) Tom Brady had perennial pushovers in the Bills, Jets and Dolphins for most of his career. Players like Favre and Rodgers had pushovers like the Lions and Bears for most of their careers. Joe Montana and Steve Young had 2 games a year against the Falcons and Saints who were NFL bottom dwellers at the time. Peyton Manning had the Jaguars, Titans, and Texans when he played with the Colts. Brees had the Buccaneers and Panthers for a majority of his career. Bottom line: Every great QB padded his stats against bottom dwelling teams.

2) The rule changes have extended the careers of QB’s. There is good reason to believe that Dak can play another 10-15 years, giving him plenty of time to increase his stats. The bigger issue is the lack of Super Bowls in his career so far. Most top QBs had already been to a Super Bowl in their first 6 years in the NFL. But there are exceptions. Manning didn’t make a Super Bowl until his 9th season, and he caught a lot of criticism for it. This is Dak’s 7th season.

Dak has been at the head of the top offense in the NFL over this season and last season when he’s been the starter. He is just now entering the prime years of his career. Even earlier in his career, it has been the Cowboys’ defense coaching that has failed more often than Dak.

I’m not an over the top fan of Dak Prescott. But Troy Aikman has already proven that the Cowboys don’t require a top-rated QB to become a Super Bowl champion. Troy had the NFL’s best RB, a HOF wide receiver, a top offensive line, and a defense that came at opponents in waves. Give Dak those same types of things, and he has the ability to lead this team to a championship.

Your not the first, nor the last to think QB X was going to be elite coming into the league...so many variables go into it including... but definitely not limited to, the team around the QB and luck.

I'm with you here. 2 SBs but just controlled the offense, what a player. The Giants are so lucky to have him all those years. I heard his brother Payton played in the NFL as well.
Lol I think we got our signals crossed on this one

Ironically Roger played before the 1978 pass interference rules changed. It was a whole different game then.
Only mentioned it as an aside.

The second part of my comment was the gist of my response...that with already 27 more TD passes, and being two years younger than Dak Prescott...Patrick Mahomes would be the QB currently playing that has the best VERY SLIM CHANCE of matching- succeeding Tom Brady's 638 passing TDs (and counting).

No he didn't. Bruce Arians never won a title as a HC til Brady got there and the team was loaded but they were coming up short. Sort of like how the Cowboys are.

Tom Brady led the league in TD passes thrown his second year starting with 28. That should tell you how much the NFL has changed. 2004 and 2007 were outlier seasons for QBs, while 2007 started a dramatic shift in the NFL and rule changes began to happen because more scoring is what excites fans.
