this is Jason Garrett's crappy offensive scheme. Its been that way. Our outside wr's barely run in breaking routes. We never really throw over the middle of the field.

This is the most dangerous place to throw the ball, you have to know what you're seeing to throw passes to the middle of the field, especially deep middle. It's a trust issue, either the coaches don't trust Dak so they don't call for patterns over the middle or Dak doesn't trust himself so he stays away from the middle. Either way it limits our offense and make us easier to defend.

While I agree, I wonder if its Dak not being very good over the middle that discourages us from throwing there
You hit the nail on the head! He hasnt shown ability to throw down the middle tka TE or WR

Our offense stop throwing to the deep middle well before Dak got here. Romo threw less and less to the deep middle once JG got hold of the offense. Many here used to complain about it all the time including myself.
My guess was it was JG's way of reducing Romo's INTs because that's where he mostly threw his INTS.

True. Dez and Terrance both ran dig routes every game and both Romo and Dak would hit em occasionally. Dak would throw them to Butler from time to time last season. Those passes are gone for whatever reason but deep middle passes weren’t passes that Dak struggled with in games. Those routes aren’t being run in this offense anymore.

Funny I don’t think see a blue dot with a circle around it. Oh that’s right we were shutout.

no this is Dak not able to go down field consistently....the long throws to Hurns and Cooper were just bad throws, wrong shoulder, too long, etc....he is just not a risk taker, nor accurate,...you can't make feet mignon out of a pile of craap by putting parsley next to eat....I am not saying Dak is craap....but he ain't that great so you make do with what you have and make country steak.....

he mostly avoids it, unless the WRs are WIDE open. and long throws to the sideline, he goes long. his mindset is either we make the pass or its missed. no Int. he usually doesn't give his WRs a chance unless they are 5-10 yards open.

when I look at those nextgen stats all of the qbs look similar league wide. noone just heaves it beyond 20 yards all game because they have these things called defenses.
its not about heaving it all game...its how many times and how many completions. it looks rather bleak in the middle of the field.....which is quite concerning
