Aikman only had an accuracy problem to those that don’t know how much the game has changed in the last 30 years.

Hey less than a brainiac, the game may have changed but one thing doesn't, Percentages. Regardless on what or how the game may change, what determines completion percentages does not. The number of completed passes of the number of passes thrown. If a QB 30 years ago has a 59.2 completion percentage a QB today may throw more passes but if his completions only comes out to 59.2 percent it's still just a 59.2 completion percentage. Now if a QB today throws mo passes but also completes more passes his passing completion percentage goes up. Now if a QB today is said to have a accuracy problem and his completion percentage is higher than QB 30 years ago then that QB 30 years ago must have had an accuracy problem too. Accuracy is measured by completion percentage.

there are obviously many deficiencies with this team . Zeke underperformed, jason's management , spotty defense etc etc. But Dak is the QB and was never the difference when the team needed him. When the team played cupcakes and streamrolled weaker opponents he was the bus driver . Now the team needs to fix a lot of weaknesses and cannot do it becasue our star QB wants all the money .

Oh I see to fit your argument that Prescott never was that one thing to propel the team to victory even though you admitted that there were other problems last season, Prescott should have complete at pass on 3rd or 4th down even though a receiver dropped the pass that was Prescott's fault or on a 3rd or 4th down needing 2 yards Elliott gets stuffed and that's Prescott's fault, or when the Cowboys needed the ball one last time to win the game the defense doesn't stop the other team and the Cowboys finally get ball on their own 10 yard line with no time outs and 38 seconds left needing a TD to win and that's Prescott's fault too. The point is it's so easy to just say Prescott didn't win the game when in reality some other things worked against him. I'm not saying that Prescott didn't miss some plays that could have turned things around, but because of the other shortfalls the Cowboys had very few QB's would have been able to overcome dropped passes, a back not getting 2 yards and a defense not making stops and having to use up all of the timeouts leaving little time to do something 90 yards away.

I 100% agree with you here, I've always argued that fact. The problem Dak has, is he may have some incredible games and take the top off a defense, but
as soon as the defense sucks for a few games, and then he has a bad game it's all Dak's fault and everyone forgets how great he has been. I seriously fault
our coaching for the inconsistency in the past, it should of never been that bad.
And that is one of my biggest problems with Dak since his college days. Inconsistent play.

You don’t know about the rule changes to promote passing and protecting the QB that has been implemented since Aikman’s days?

If Dak get's a new contract which pays him like the Top QB's then he won't be given too much margin for error with the fans.
Being a 4th round pick and his ability to right the ship has endured him to the fans. But, now that he will be paid like the top QB's he will be expected to play like one and things that may have been forgiven by fans before won't any more.
It's not that he's overpaid that upsets people, it's the fact that him taking up more and more of the cap space prevents the team from retaining players due to the restraints implemented by the cap.
He will be expected to show that he can carry the team and be the main cog that elevates the team/players to the upper level.
He needs to show that the players he has around him is irrelevant up to a certain point and be able to perform even when he isn't surrounded by top notch players.
Right now he has Zeke, Cooper, and Gallop that are excellent players and help mask a lot of his deficiencies in a lot of instances.
Now, he will be expected to perform even if/when those players go out due to injury.
Where have you been the past 4 years? Hes made 4.7m in his 4yr career and hasnt had margin for error with a large part of the fan base. We have fans who want him traded, wanted sign Brady, Bridgewater ect... and now Cam. 4m or 44m wont change this.

Not saying dak doesn't deserve to get paid. However that philly game last year against a depleted philly team was not "top paid quarterback" performance. Yeah we had a couple injuries but dak didn't exactly take over the game. I know he had the shoulder issue but it didn't seem to be a problem the next week.

If i'm jerry jones i'd play hardball. I don't think any other team in football would make him the highest paid quarterback. Jerry's problem is he can't stomach if his star players get away and play great elsewhere. It makes him look bad. However you have to be smart.

Just because Dak is about to get highly paid doesn't mean that he won't struggle.

Let's don't kid ourselves here...Dak will be scrutinized regardless of what he does out there. You know this. I know this. And you know this would happen regardless of how much Dak was being paid. This happened when he was getting paid nothing lol.

I'm gonna continue to judge him regardless of how he gets paid because its moot. His contract just gives some people validation to do what they would be doing to him anyway.
Agreed. I’m not too much concerned with how much he’s getting paid.

What don't you get???? Completion percentage is a number A divided by B. That math DOES NOT depend or is based on what rules are in place at the time. The math of completion percentage does not changer because rules change. Percentage math is the same whether one is finding the percentage of passes completed or the percentage of pass plays vs run plays. IT'S MATH not change in NFL rules.

Simply not the way it works. All you have need is a very simply analyzation of comp % over the years and how they've changed. And then add in the type of O being run, and that makes an analyzation of QB accuracy through the decades using only comp % grossly inaccurate.

Sorry, Koep, you're not correct on this one.

Dak fans hate the 1-6 record against winning teams, Dak haters hate that his numbers improved.

Oh no, the toxic fanbase who wanted to bench him for Cooper Rush and wants to replace him with literally any inferior warm body veteran will stop giving him the benefit of a doubt he's been luxuriating in?

What a change that will be for him.

Bold statement, Dak is a breath of fresh air for this team. This year, the team will be much better technically.

The game may change but the manner of how to divide one number into another number to get a percentage does not change. Whether a QB attempts 40 passes in a game or 20 passes a game there is still only one way to mathematically determine a QB completion percentage. If one QB has a 67.8 completion percentage and is said to be inaccurate then another QB with a completion percentage of 62.3 also has to be inaccurate. There are two constants regardless what era or what the rules are at the time. The QB throws passes and passes are caught.. The only changes through out the years is some QB's complete a higher percentage of passes regardless of what era it is. You say it depends on the type of offense being run. That must mean then that they use a different kind of math to determine the completion percentage depending on the type of offense run. How do they do that? Do they give each pass caught as counting as 1.5 or 2 catches per pass for some offenses? Yes there many things that can't be compared between different eras, but completion percentage uses the same math regardless of era.
