Very true. We shouldn't be mad at Dak because of the money he is making, we should be mad at Jerry Jones for sighing Dak to that ridiculous contract in the first place..

That's not just on Jerry. It's league wide. Middle of the pack starters or even QBs outside the top 10 are getting overpaid because "MUH MOST VALUABLE POSITION".

Dak has been given plenty of opportunities to win these big games but has failed. I think the last chance me from behind game he has one is Atlanta. The issue with the past game is we were up 28-14 so you can’t really blame Dak for this one.
You can still give blame all around. He was given 3 chances to get any points or sustain a long drive.

At 28-21, we ran 8 plays for 25 yards.

At 28-28 we ran 3 plays for 3 yards.

If he can get any type of drive going on either of those we likely win the game.

NO NO NO!!!

that's the "going rate" for QB's these days.
This is what you can, and should, expect, for $40 million a year.
I read it on this very forum numerous times, it has to be true.

Owners do need to get a handle on this at some point though. An owner eventually has to say "Okay you're a good QB, but you're not THAT good. Hit the road, other players need to be paid"

Don't worry, next year they'll restructure him and kick that can down the road a few years. He's not going anywhere folks, strap in, turbulence ahead.
I know we are stuck with him and I am going to hope that he pleasantly surprises us but I am not holding my breath. I will be surprised if we get to the playoffs with him at QB. I think Minnesota is going to embarrass us next week.

I don't disagree
i was just poking fun at the narrative that seem to prevail on this board that Dak isn't overpaid because he's "making what other great QB's are making"

except for the part about them being great and him, no so much...
but other than that, yes, he's making "market value" ;)

yes, all QB salaries probably need to be reigned in but in the meantime, if you're paying a guy top market value, you should at least expect him to perform somewhere near the top of the market. Not happening. Now, or ever.

Turning the ball over at their 10 yard line after we recovered the fumble really killed us. We kick a FG there and we win the game. This game never goes to OT.

Was a week 10 game on the road vs a non division opponent a big game?

It depends if the Packers get hot (I don't think they will) and this comes back to bite us later in the year if we are fighting for that final wildcard spot.

Dak is what he is it's not going to magically change. Until idiot Kellen Moore understands you can't let Dak drop back 46 times or you are simply going to lose period this will continue to happen. He is a 40 million dollar bus driver.

I know it's not all his fault but we've seen a multi-year pattern of Dak not winning big games.
He does great against average to bad teams but comes up short.
He get's paid $40 million to win those games and he almost always fails.
Dak is a great talker but his skills have diminished as far as becoming an above average QB.

IMO he does not fold against good teams, he "folds" against better defenses.

Against crappy ones he looks like the next coming of Marino. Against those Moore can give him a gameplan that he is able to execute: read this (and only this) defensive player, then throw it exactly to this receiver. No second reads no improvisation. Not throwing on the run or finding an open man on his own. If the defense cant stop this Dak puts up big numbers.

But if the opposing defense is able to take his schemed receiver away then Dak is lost.

Dak is what he is. I follwed him now his whole NFL career and in college. He is an bad NFL QB and he never played better or worse then now. I dont see any kind of improvement in his game. Except the funny warm up routine with which he tries to distract us all from the actual important things

But we found ways (offensive playcalls) to be successfull with him to a certain degree. Just dont expect too much from Dak. This would be unfair to him.

BTW: Did you all watch Cousins and Allen battling it out yesterday ? Who again in this forum said 2 years ago Dak is way better than Cousins. And Prescott is in Allens league....

He's magically changed into a worse version of himself though.

Don't run, slow and plodding, turns it over, makes bonehead decisions, and his accuracy is about as bad as I've seen it.

Directly? I dont believe so.

Grand scheme of things? It hurts. The wild card will soon get muddled up especially if Washington wins tonight.

Giants have 7, Dallas has 6, SF has 5 and will likely battle with Seattle. Then you have multiple teams with four wins.

It doesn’t kill our season by any means. But having the 7th win with games against the Colts, Jags, Texans, Commanders should get us 10-11 wins.

The answer as I’ve been saying all along is he’s a Kirk Cousins level qb some think are waaaaaayyyy better than that. He’s average as ever outside of fantasy stats that some use to make the case he’s better than he is.

Come on it’s the team that loses only wins are Daks legacy. How do you expect any QB to overcome poor receivers, OL poor D and coaches and the refs god forbid they called it honestly. Dak would never lose if he played on a quality team with good players and good coaches, I read it here so it must be true. The season isn’t over he still might surprise folks Jerry says he’s elite top 3 Qb, give him a break he’s still learning his craft the intangibles could kick in at any time. Let’s wait and see before throwing him under the bus while he’s still learning to drive it especially with a Qb whisper like MM guiding him.

The other concerning trend in such games? Lousy run defense.

Dak is Dak, he's not going to magically transform into someone else. But for crying out loud, can we ever fix the run defense? How many years does it take?
Around Dallas more than 20 .

That’s a diss to Kirk Cousins; I’m easily taking him over Dakota right now.
