It's not just Dak. It's the whole organization. e haven't won a so called "BIG" game since the 90's.Dak was barely born -if born back then:laugh:I said from the start of this season. We don't beat GB or TB? Then we probably aren't as good as we think. For me those were the two BIG games this year. "Why"? Because these are the two quarterbacks and teams we continually suck and lose to. We 'd of beaten them I would feel a lot better about this team.

Problem is, he's getting paid like he's on their level.

I agree that his salary is out of line with his performance. My bigger issue though is regardless of his salary I don't want Dak as my QB. Dak doesn't have what it takes to consistently win against better than average teams. I think at this point the Cowboys and their fans have seen enough of Dak to know it's time to move on. Dak may still be good enough to start in the NFL, but he isn't good enough to start on an NFL team that wants to go deep in the playoffs and hope to win a Super Bowl.

Romo was a choke artist. Aikman was not. Aikman was a vastly superior QB to Romo.

Aikman was surrounded by one of the most loaded teams in NFL history. Once he lost that he freakin' STUNK. Absolute utter garbage QB play.

Romo never had anywhere remotely close to a 90s Cowboys team - look what Romo did once he finally got an offensive line, was a few votes shy of being MVP in 2014. Dak will never have the team Aikman did either.

This romanticizing of Aikman is one of the lamest things on this board. Good leader and limited mistakes and allowed the rest of the team do their thing, but he wasn't some generational type talent.

Romo was not better than Aikman.

Aikman played big in big games.

Thus, the Cowboys were able to win multiple playoff games in one season.

Romo led Cowboys teams were either one and done in the playoffs or they were able to win one Wild Card playoff game. They never advanced to the NFC Championship game.
Truth!

I think Romo was better than Aikam. Aikman just didn't make the mistakes Romo or for that matter Dak makes in Big games. Aikman also had better coaches. Better leadership. And better drafting at that time. You put Romo or Dak with Jimmy and that staff? Things would probably be a lot different.

Why is it that the Romo haters are Dak worshipers? Strange

Why did Troy say, "Romo is already better than him?"

Agree to disagree. IMO Troy’s skill set was far advanced to Romo. I think we can agree both were far better than our current QB. To quote my dear deceased mom…you didn’t have yourself nothing! That’s the current situation with every QB on the Cowboy’s roster.

Aikman numbers are small compared to Romo and Dak's. Aikman just let the line and Emmitt take the thrust of the defense while Aikman threw when he had to. The last 2 Super Bowls Aikman was not even a problem for either defense. It was Emmitt and Brown. Again. The difference between the three? Aikman didn't make in game killer mistakes. And Aikman was a far better leader than both Romo or Dak. Aikman and Dak have far superior numbers than Aikman does as far as yards and Td's.

Maybe Dak is changing too many run plays to pass plays at the line of scrimmage whereas Rush is more often running the play that was called.
I've heard that narrative. I wonder how true it is. If true, I still blame the coaches for allowing that. Any player can be reigned in or even disciplined (benched) for repeated plays that harm the team.

I know it's not all his fault but we've seen a multi-year pattern of Dak not winning big games.
He does great against average to bad teams but comes up short.
He get's paid $40 million to win those games and he almost always fails.
Dak is a great talker but his skills have diminished as far as becoming an above average QB.

Oh, it’s his fault all right..

Dak has better numbers than all of the three-Fact! Romo had better numbers than Aikman-fact. Aikman got 3 rings. That's the difference. Dak gets 1 or 2...He'll be considered way better than Romo. Because Romo had none.

Dak salary is right where it needs to be compared to quarterbacks getting the same. How many quarterbacks making Dak money have won anything??? I'd say few. Kurt Cousins is in that range. So there you go. And yes. Dak needs to get better. He win a Super Bowl? How much do you think he'll get then???? Some of you guys are letting your hate crowd the facts.

Romo had to do EVERYTHING. Aikman just had to just perform a role.

Norv Turner's offense was high-school simple. But they were crazy talented and could win with basic run plays, slants, and outs. Aikman had a strong and pretty accurate arm, but very little else was required of him.

Romo was a much more talented QB overall with amazing escapability and an incredible ability to thread the needle. And he read defenses at the level of Brees and Manning.

Aikman didn't have to do any of that.

Dak is as pedestrian as it gets. Doesn't belong in this conversation at all.

Numbers mean nothing, but if you want to do that, Dak is ranked 24th in the NFL right now.

Statistical comparisons are dumb, especially across eras. They mean nothing.

Numbers don't lie and he went further in the playoffs than Romo ever did. Sorry pal. Numbers don't lie... Or playoff wins. Keep dodging the facts. And I've always said Dak needs to get 100 percent better. But in the big picture he's gone and done more than Romo did. I deal with just the facts. Not my hate....

Numbers mean absolutely nothing.

With those teams, Romo wins 4 or 5 Super Bowls.

Aikman would be forgotten if he played on Romo's teams. He would be dead.

Fallacy of the Dak Haters……convenient amnesia “every time Prescott started Big games and the Cowboys win”…….
