If I was wrong about Dak he wouldn’t have been extended twice. Had the Cowboys not paid him someone else would have paid him even more. If you don’t think he’s a good QB then you don’t know football. I’ve noticed that most “fans” don’t have a clue. You don’t hear anyone in the media saying Dak sucks. That’s only coming from silly casual fans who aren’t educated about the game. The reality of the situation is the Cowboys would stand little chance of competing without Dak. If you don’t think he’s very good, that’s fine but to claim he “sucks” is ridiculous. If you want to play follow the leader with MountaineerCowboy you won’t be taken seriously by me.
I wish you’d play follow the leader and stop posting like your Dak over Dallas pals have done.

You take every opportunity to tell us how bad of a GM Jerry is, how he knows nothing, how he is horrible at player evaluation.

Then you’ll say Dak getting a second contract is proof he’s good. You do know who gave him that contract right?

So Jerry sucks at everything besides his evaluation of Dak?

You see where you’re getting caught, right Dak fan?

We are in the same boat as Cleveland given that we have a QB Contract that will negatively affect the Team for years to come.
Dak isn't as useless as Watson but he is a mediocre QB who will never get you over the top.
The Cleveland fanbase turned on Watson and it looks like the Cowboys fanbase will do the same with Dak.
Dak isn't horrible but him being paid the top QB salary in the NFL is insulting.
Dak hasn't allegedly assaulted numerous women, so I think that buys him a little more time than Watson.

You’re thinking of someone else. I’ve never said anything about Jerry’s player evaluations. He hires people to evaluate players and our picks are based on those evaluations. Everyone here knows he sucks as a GM. Dak getting a second contract does prove he’s good along with his stats and winning percentage. He’s given the Cowboys a chance. If you think he “sucks” you don’t have a clue. We would be left with Trey Lance as our QB if it was up you. You were touting him as our QB of the future, sooner rather later. Lol The only praise you’ve given to a Cowboys player was to Trey Lance.

He can explain that all he wants. The Joneses are still going to live by the cap regardless how bad this team gets. They’re going to try and improve the team with new coaches and hoping they hit on their draft picks. That’s how Jerry built the team when he first arrived. Parsons needs to be his Herschel Walker. Trade him and pile up some draft picks. Paying him is only going to make it much more difficult to plug all the holes.
WTH? Jerry did not build that team, Coach Jimmy Johnson built it. What a dumb thing to say.

Thanx for making my point
You think Dak is some great QB being held back by this team
WE should have moved on from Dak because he is an average QB who wanted to be paid like the top QB and posters like yourself thought he deserved to be paid like that LOL
I never said he was great lol. I said he should leave because I’m a fan of his not because he’s great lol. I advise Schoonmaker or Mazi to do the same. Jerry loves you though.

Time to get over this. There's literally nothing the team can do minus benching a $60M QB. That'll never happen.

Next year's contract will be restructured. Let's hope that frees up some money to bring in help on the OL and DL positions.

No other team was going to pay Dak half of what Jerry gave him. The league knows who Dak is and has for a while now. Only Jerry doesn't bother to pay attention to results.
I won't argue your point, but I know teams pay some crazy numbers on the open market.

So you think teams would have lined up to make him the highest paid after they witnessed this season?

Also, he hasn't made it thru the season yet. Injury protection is a huge incentive for players to sign deals. I don't blame Dak for accepting the deal. I blame the system for setting up players & agents to get the next biggest contract but most of all I blame Dumbo for folding to that line of thinking & putting it on the table.
We're you saying teams wouldn't pay Dak before the season started?

I'm a firm believer that if Kirk Cousins got paid with an Achilles injury, Dak would get paid also.

Lastly, would Dak have played better if he wasn't already set with the extension?

If Dak had played out the last year of his contract here (I expected the 2024 season to go like this either way), would he get offers in 2025? Yes. Would they be at or near the top of the market? I highly doubt it. I honestly think his market would be small. I don't see other clubs being able to sell him as a way to energize their fan base ... but it only takes one. I get that.

If they had agreed to trade him prior to this season, his market is better but I still strongly suspect his value to other teams was never on par with what he got from Dumbo. But he would have been a year younger & coming off a better statistical season.

I mean do you know of any fan bases clamoring to acquire him?

Dak is who he is. I don't know that the security of the extension is a root cause. In other words, I don't doubt his effort, he just isn't naturally talented. He has always been & will always be a limited QB who wilts even further under pressure.

I really can't believe the things that are said on this forum sometimes.
The media openly mocks his failures. Just like they openly mock the Cowboys as a whole.
What is more damning is the things they don't say. They never bring him up when they are talking about guys at the top, guys to build a team around, go to guys in the clutch, etc.. They are very clearly telling you they don't think too much of him.
Other NFL teams and players have openly told you they don't fear or respect Dak's ability to beat them.
Jimmy Johnson has openly said "Dak ain't that kinda guy".

Some of you never learned to read between the lines.

The media criticizes his failures but they don’t say he sucks. That’s fan talk. The team and Jerry get mocked. That’s what happens when you’re losing. Like a typical fan you read way too much into things. Other teams and players aren’t saying the BS you’re claiming that’s being said. Jimmy Johnson has openly said you can win a Super Bowl with Dak if he has the right team around him. Jimmy himself has said Dak is a good QB. Jimmy hasn’t said any of the crap you’re posting. You need to stop listening to fans who hate Dak and don’t have a clue about what they’re talking about.

But we should listen to you instead, huh? Have you watchsd Good Morning Football? Or do you turn it on and then turn it off right away because what they are saying is not something you would want to hear. Take a listen sometime.

A couple of major differences. We didn’t give a ton of picks for Dak and we can cut him after next year without a totally devastating cap hit
