Dak > Dez

This actually holds water for me: A Cowboys executive told me on Monday morning: “Yeah, it’s fair to say that. Obviously, everything we do around here has to add to the foundation of our franchise guy. We have to give Dak the best opportunity to grow. We will.”

I can see them thinking that way, and I sort of agree with it. There was a disconnect between Dez' and Dak's games.

Except this also suggests they might also overdraft a WR this month, too, for the same reason. That would suck.

you know when it comes down to it it does make the most sense. Bryant just didnt have a good chemistry with Dak. who is younger? Has less on the books? More pivotal to the franchise right now? Dak is.

If Dak sucks next year and still cant throw it to anyone i think then they might look at "well we need a QB", but with that realization they are fresh of all the dead money and ready to build.

Any franchise would be stupid to pick an aging/limited/highly priced/infantile WR over an up and coming 2nd year QB who has flashed like Dak has if it came down to it.. It's a no brainer, don't care what anyone says. Always build around the QB....whatever he needs! Now it is limited time wise, not saying forever but he gets 3 years minimum after that SENSATIONAL Rookie season. The Jags are still rolling with Bortles and many teams have no QB future right now.

Knew it.

Good job on somehow making this worse by releasing this.

The problem is who did have a good chemistry with a Dak last year?

Dak can’t blame his coaches for a crap game plan from 1992. But it wasn’t just a Dez issue.

Some feel part of the problem last year was Dak feeling pressure to involve Dez, as opposed to his rookie season that started with Dez injured where he focused only on getting the ball to the open man. I don't know if this is a completely valid point of view, but I did feel we tried to force the ball to Dez more last year.

Wow nothing like heaping more pressure on your young QB to perform. Now throw in your QB now has a "safe" place to go to if some is critical of him...

Just like TO and his group of WR's, Dez and his group of WR's, the next group will go through the same cycle.
I wonder if Beasley is not re-signed next year and he airs more laundry some here will be so quick to defend JG, FO, and Dak.

Maybe they draft another dynamic receiver next year, like they did Dez after TO was cut.

Putting all their eggs in a basket with a huge hole in the bottom. SMH.

This is what some of us were afraid of in 2016. We saw the cliff on the horizon and the Cowboys "leadership" slamming on the gas.
