Dak > Dez

Tis organization talks way too much, telegraphs way too many of their moves, and systematically devalues assets to the point that they can't make a move for them. Son is just as bad as the father.

:hammer:
Loose lips sink ships.

Now someone find the anonymous rat in the building, and have it exterminated.

I tend to disbelieve any story that can not name who they spoke with and quote them in context.

I wonder if Beasley is not re-signed next year and he airs more laundry some here will be so quick to defend JG, FO, and Dak.

And I wonder how anyone would feel if he got released and said he loves everyone in Dallas and understood the team had a tough decision to make. Or how would they feel if he has another season where he leads the team in yardage? Or I wonder how anyone would feel if Hurns puts up a 1,000 yard, 10 TD season? Or I wonder ......

Anyone can make up any future scenario they want, but it is not an argument in the present.

Now let's talk about the present. Before getting released Dez was talking about how much he loved being a Cowboy and he was predicting big things for the team, and after getting cut he is talking about how bad it was. Maybe he was hiding his true feelings before hoping it would help him keep his job and paycheck, or maybe it's sour grapes now. People can take it how they want.

Again

Dez is to Dak as Owens was to Romo.

Good at the start but not good in the long run.

Romo had a pretty good year the following year, so lets hope that trend continues. I don't think Dak and Dez had bad blood, they just weren't a match on the football field, it happens....

The problem is who did have a good chemistry with a Dak last year?

Dak can’t blame his coaches for a crap game plan from 1992. But it wasn’t just a Dez issue.

Funny how that game plan worked great in 2014 and 2016 but it’s crap in 2015 and 2017. It wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with Romo being hurt in 2015 and Zeke’s suspension in 2017?

No, of course not!

What laundry though? We already know. Garrett sees himself as a military style disciplinarian in the mold of belichick and saban and Jerry is Barry Switzer and wants everyone happy and partying and talking to the media.

Caught in between are the players. It’s my way works do it my way or else from Garrett and the players go to Jerry and he gets involved. This style wears people out.

This is why it would be best to make a change and bring in a whole new staff and let them evaluate the roster and design the new scheme around them. The problem is Jerry and Stephen. They are not ever going to allow anyone to run the football operations for them ever again. They have their stadium, their facility and are more valuable than anyone else in sports. They are never allowing a true alpha male proven guy come in here and run it his way.

They did once with parcells, the team immidiately changed for the better but that still wasn’t good enough, Jerry wanted to win yesterday and had to force players on parcells and he left. 05 and 06 should have been the beginning of something special long term, but the Jones can’t get out of their own way. So that was that. Jerry was on eggshells in his own building as he said. Parcells walked and said within a year you will never know I was there and he was right.

Garrett allows them to do whatever they want and he try’s to be the parcells type but he is not because the Jones donnot view him that way and interfere in everything. That is why we have players running to Jerry and complaining about what other players do not like them and how the head coach is hard on them.

It’s like a high school team because of the Jones constant meddling in the football operations.

The truth is Romo and Owens did t really have bad blood either. Owens essentially called Romo and witten racists and there was no way that could continue going forward. The difference back then is that they were developing miles austin and he would have been a starter in 08 if not for constant injuries. In 09 Williams got hurt and Austin got to play at kc and that was it.

If the team had a head coach or assistants who could handle these guys this tuff would t happen. In 06 when Owens started his crap when the team was struggling parcells and Haley put him in his place.

Ray Sherman took Owens side which was unbelievable and Robinson was brought here to try and handle Dez while Garrett had been promoted.

....sounds like Garrett needs to go to Lenscrafter. His teams performance at the start of some games and after halftime has no signs of a military disciplinarian.

Yeah I don't know, everyone knew Owens was a little nutzo, we took our chances with that guy. I think Dez actually sealed his fate and ticked off (the big bosses) when he had his hissy on the sideline of the Seahawks game...right after the ball thrown to him and promptly fumbled it over. I know for a fact that pssed off Steven and even probably Jerry. I think his act had just worn thin at that point. They simply decided he wasn't worth the headache and money, it is what it is. Basically he tried to be the highest paid fireman saying, "give me this, I'll DO IT.."...get away and promptly he burns the house down faster than anyone....you just can't do that if you are the highest paid guy!

At this point what input does he even have on the game plan. Jerry took that away from him in 2013 which is another sign of trouble.

None of us can do anything about it and the tanners and holleys of the world can not either.

Some feel part of the problem last year was Dak feeling pressure to involve Dez, as opposed to his rookie season that started with Dez injured where he focused only on getting the ball to the open man. I don't know if this is a completely valid point of view, but I did feel we tried to force the ball to Dez more last year.
I wonder the same thing. No doubt Dak was forcing the ball to Dez. Was it because Dez twisted his arm or because of pressure on the QB, a bad WR Corp, a combination?
We can’t really know for sure. I would say that if Dak was forcing the ball to Dez then the coaching staff deserves some of the blame. At this level you always throw the ball to anyone open.

'This, however, cannot be denied — the Cowboys concluded that Dez doesn’t work for Dak. So, that doesn’t work for the Cowboys.

He’s gone now.

A big “X” among them.

A Cowboys executive told me on Monday morning: “Yeah, it’s fair to say that. Obviously, everything we do around here has to add to the foundation of our franchise guy. We have to give Dak the best opportunity to grow. We will.”' ......

Pretty much says it all. Dak IS the Cowboys new and longterm franchise QB. The Cowboys did what was best for their new franchise QB to grow without any cancer around that would hurt that growing process. So enough with the needing to "bring in or draft another QB to replace Dak" rhetoric. Dak is here to stay. Are you?

That is easy to say when he is entering year 3 of 4 year contract if he shows no growth or the returns on making the roster more comfortable for him do not pan out what do they do in year 4.

I imagine - and I admit I'm speculating - that the coaching staff wanted to get the ball to Dez more because he had the greatest big play ability of the receivers, and maybe partially to appease Dez. My belief from watching Dak in 2016, is that his strength is in making the quick decision to get the ball to the open man, and not in waiting for a better opportunity. When he does that he seems to end up forcing things rather than take the sure thing.
