This was the first knock that I noticed form him yesterday. When a ball gets away from him was his feet that failed him. We new he was a bit erratic in his throws from time to time and needed to work on it.
He seems like a guy that is a self starter and improves very fast. Will be interesting to see how much tighter he gets as the season progresses. It was very evident and critical to the outcome so I think there is going to be alot of work on it

Dak did everything they asked him to do and played well. No question about it.

And how much help did he really have? Dez dropped a TD pass. Plenty of other drops. His head coach is a "play not to lose" moron that lacks creativity and stones. And the run game didnt do much either.

Yeah, that's the part 'Mr. Stats', today playing the part of contrarian, obviously doesn't want to acknowledge.

Prescott can't catch the ball for them.

So are you going to acknowledge that our receivers dropped passes or....stick to your agenda of Dak played "poorly".

Are you going to acknowledge that you didn't even read the first post?

Dak was not the problem. Not even close.

For a rookie QB to come out and play clean with no turnovers, that is all you can really ask for.

The fault for the loss goes squarely on the coaching staff. Playing smart football for the first half and the start of the second, with balanced run-pass ratio, we took the lead. From that point on we abandoned the run and passed the ball 3 times for every run. That is unacceptable and goes completely against how we played in getting the lead. Colossal coaching mistakes.

Are you going to acknowledge that dropped passes affect a QB's stats?

Dak had as many bad passes that should have been interceptions. The Beasley missed touchdown was the only egregious drop I remember. The others were difficult catch attempts and often poorly thrown balls. Look, I'm not projecting Prescott to be a bad player. I think he has a bright future. But the notion that he played well yesterday just does not jibe with reality. He didn't.

Stats are the reality of what happened and do not lie. Your eyes lie if they told you Prescott played well. He didn't. He was bottom quartile of the league yesterday.

Really? A player can throw a 4 hail marys for 60 yards and would have better stats than another player throwing 20 passes for 10 yards each. Doesn't mean anything.

He played safe which is what I expected to see. Dak used the weapons that were working. Wit and beez. They weren't exactly lighting up the field. Our coaches decided to keep the running game minimal by not giving Morris who was having good day more snaps. Our Wrs played like they do no matter who the QB is. He protected the ball and made smart decisions. Did he make mistakes? Sure but so did every other QB who played yesterday.

Oh give me a break! Dez & Beasley catch those balls, it's a totally different game & Witten lost one in the sun. You ask a guy to throw the ball 45 times, there are going to be some balls that get deflected or fall just short of the DB's when the QB rushes a throw due to a free rusher in his face or the pocket collapsing. The stats usually don't look pretty when your QB, not alone a rookie has no running game and has to throw that many times.

Lol at the stats. We couldn't run the ball to save our lives, and he got out of at least 3-4 sacks because of his strength alone. The handcuffs were on and he still moved the ball. The Gents front four looked fantastic and nobody helped him out. 2 dropped TD's and a bonehead play at the end! Watch the dang game man!!
Elliot couldnt run the ball. Morris had 5 yards a pop. We lost because Garrett and Jerrah wanted to showcase their 1st pick. Morris is better.

He looked like weeden in the Atlanta game last year

I agree with that somewhat and I think it had more to do with the game plan than Dak. Until JG changes the offensive game plan for the backup QBs , all of the games are going to look like last year's game.

This right here is what doesn't get brought up enough. He played a very smart game for his season debut. He didn't try to do to much. He played exactly like he should in his first regular season game.

Let's be clear on that. Yeah, there were some missed catches by the receivers, but there were also some really bad throws that were missed interceptions by the defense. Let's just focus on the facts. Of the 28 quarterbacks, Dak ranked...
  • 26th in passing efficiency
  • 28th in yards per attempt
  • 22nd in completion percentage
  • 21st in adjusted net yards per attempt
In no way did he play well in an absolute sense. He was poor yesterday. You can argue that he was OK for a rookie, but he did not play well yesterday. At all.

PFF disagrees.
