Dak faced the easiest average pass defense DVOA of opponents this season

By the way we destroyed NY and Wash twice which nobody else could seem to do. Dak had a big effect on all 3 of the NFC east rankings so you can’t fault him for that

When the schedule is made consisting of each game and each team for whatever season it becomes a matter of performance fate and a myriad of other variables that influence the win or lose outcome. I don't get worked up over it one way or the other particularly hindsighting it.

What tougher defenses? The Packers are ranked 28th in defensive DVOA...which is worse than the Eagles who are 27th. The Rams couldn't stop a parked car the last time they played the Cowboys. The Eagles got sandblasted. Detroit should've lost by double-digits.

The only defense that Dallas needs to be concerned about is San Francisco. Full...stop.
Respectfully disagree. We don't even know for sure if we'll be playing the 49ers. Right now I'm concerned with beating the Packers. If we don't beat them, nothing else matters. Beat them, and then, and only then, concern yourself with whichever team is our next opponent.

Meh.. We all know Dak needs to help win a SB and be the MVP before he gets any credit. But if our Defense shows up big in the game then it will be because of them. Was the same way with Romo.

Nobody would be ragging Dak for the playoffs if the offense would have put up good numbers vs SF the last two years. They did not and he was poor and thus the criticism. 12 pts and 17 pts and QB ratings in the 60's

I mean he put it on our divisional rivals 2 times each this year probably helped that "DVOA" they have..the goalpost moving service on this site is always in full force..

They have been the team to beat when they have all there starters. We have to have our Defense bring pressure on purdy. And hoping we have all our starters for the game. Dak and Lamb are playing really well. But I think if we play them again Dak will need to run with the ball. Maybe a few designed runs or if nothing is there pull it down and take off.

Lol. But also stop the run.

Yep, gotta move in the pocket. Cant just settle for the low percentage throw. Gotta make the play. Couple examples of this type of thing was Trevor Lawrence throwing a terrible low percentage pass on 4th down for their playoff hopes when he only needed 3 yards. Can't make that pass, gotta find a better option. JJ McCarthy making the same low percentage pass on 4th and 3 in the Championship game when he had time and could have moved around for a better play.

Can't throw away possessions with that type of thing!

I think we just have to cover better. SF is going to get the ball off quick and hope for YAC. We have to cover the short passing game better and clamp down on McCaffrey (assuming we get that far)

I still say there are those on here that want us to fail in the playoffs so they can blame Dak. And have 6 more months of spreading their misery.
Just because a few here think he doesn't walk on water, doesn't mean we want him to fail . He still needs to deliver post season. That's why he gets paid, and to play well. He's highly compensated and needs to deliver. Full stop.

NYG gave up 40 and 49 to Dallas. They didn't give up more than 31 to anyone else.
LAR gave up 43 to Dallas. The next two highest were 31 and 30.
Sea gave up 41 to Dallas. They gave up 37 to Baltimore and not over 30 to anyone else.

I can continue. Dallas beat up these defenses more than any other team for the most part. The Cowboys laid two eggs this year: @SF and @Buff. Outside of that, the offense was fantastic and opponent strength doesn't change that. If these guys were so bad, why wasn't every team lighting them up?

Yes he does need to do it in post season.
but that does not warrant the hate he gets from some. They hate him just to hate him. But yet Romo was the same and they act as if he walked on water.

And I like both but was never 100% sold on either.

Joe Montana played against the cream puff opponents in the NFC West for most of his career. Tom Brady played most of his career against doormat opponents in the AFC east. It didn't tarnish their careers.

I don't think it hurts Dak that he destroyed most of his opponents in 2023.
