We can only hopeWe might have to wait a while but I'd be flabbergasted if the team doesn't send him packing by the time "the Turk" comes calling.

You done chief? Either you’re a troll or delusional, either way it is the off season and things are slow so perhaps we shall dance? I got time, do you?Yeah you are done biting because you have been caught and reeled in.
Looks like dak is all business this season!
Isnt that kind of harsh? You done chief? Either you’re a troll or delusional, either way it is the off season and things are slow so perhaps we shall dance? I got time, do you?
Harsh, realistic, honest...spin it how you will mate.Isnt that kind of harsh?

So everything around him has to be perfect for him to perform? Awesome...
And look at that, Dak is only ever at fault because of someone else. Typical to hear this today.
Here's a bit of some football knowledge. Chaz Green wasn't the only reason Dak got sacked a million times against ATL. Go rewatch those sacks and pay attention to the paths by the defensive end and Dak. And playcalling played its part as well.
I mean, welcome to the NFL. If you can't throw under duress, you can't be an NFL QB.
Agreed but the majority of the other NFL quarterbacks don’t have the same O line luxury that Dak does which is part of what concerns me about him in the long run.
ROFLMAO... well... when you get drafted to an NFL team, you expect to not get hit don't you? Like you, I seriously doubt that one game had anything to do with what all went down this season. But, it definitely gets used as the example of the whole season enough.
I was a huge fan of Romo though, and I felt many of those 8-8 seasons would have been more like 3-13 without him. But, in the same regard... he made some mistakes that cost him. I don't count things like fumbling the ball on a snap for a kick as one of them... The starting QB should have never been holding the snap anyway. That is just stupid in so many ways, it isn't even funny. I also don't count the Denver loss on him, because the defense did nothing that game... That was an amazing offensive game. But, he has definitely had his stupid moments.
Frankly, in my opinion he was better then Aikman, and better then Staubach... If anything he and Staubach are long lost relatives, by the escape artist acts they performed. But, Aikman was smarter then him when it came to trying to live to fight another day, and trying to stay on the field... but, he still missed a lot of games.
I hope Dak can amaze us with his transformation this off season. I hope he can still overcome the odds, when the situation isn't perfect. I have my doubts, but...we shall see. The 3rd year as the starter, if he stays on the field, will tell us everything we need to know. If it was Romo that made that big of a difference in Dak's play, then Jerry should have opened the checkbook, and he should have replaced Linehan. Although, I am with the people, that feel... the underneath passes were taken away, and game over. So I guess we will see if he has adapted. I will give him credit on some of the OTA throws I saw him making, while not under duress. But, I want to see some longer throws to see if those throwing mechanics changed.
I am am still of the opinion, Dak is a great person, but not the franchise QB we are looking for. But, I will say I was wrong if he ends up showing that he is. Like I have said... I don't want to play musical QBs.
So if he is the one... Great! But, if he isn't the one this season, let's make that change before it takes us another 23 years to reach the promised land.
Why do fans love to over-react and say dumb stuff?
If Green gets cut it won't be because of the Atlanta game.
Atlanta was 1 game. He played well in 2 starts at LT in 2016.
If he gets cut it will likely be due to his inability to stay healthy.
If he stays healthy for all of training camp, he'll probably make the team.
Just a few nibbles here and there to keep me entertainedYou told me you were done but yet you have appear yet again.
Dont be that easiest fish on the forum!
This will be three years so that is more than 2 years and last time I checked he is a man, not a kid.The long run? How about giving the kid more than 2 years to be perfect?

Of course it's inaccurate to the DHC. Expected behavior. And kinda inacurate facts but it is ok its about Dak
I think its dumb to defend back ups that havent done anything but get the QB blind sided 5 times in a game. Green was leaning towards the interior of the line and was continually being beat on the outside. You would think he would take it upon himself to adjust regardless of the coaches but he kept doing what he was doing.
The inability to stay healthy has always been there then you throw in the Atlanta game and yes he should be gone! At least Dallas has brought in some better depth so we will see how it all plays out.
I'll start by saying I would be happy if the Cowboys find an 8th or 9th OLineman that out performs Green in the preseason and Green gets cut; however, until that happens it makes zero sense to cut him.
Your post that I replied to said he should be gone because of the Atlanta game. You did not mention injury issues.
If they cut him due to injury issues that would be understandable. He has never stayed healthy for any significant amount of time.
My issue is that cutting a player due to 1 bad game would be stupid. His performance in 2 starts at LT in 2016 was so good that most fans didn't realize after the season that Tyron had missed those games.
Green also started last season at OG and was good enough to at least be considered the top backup OG. It was injury, not performance that knocked him out of the lineup.
Most players have had at least 1 terrible game:
- Aikman
- Romo
- Leary
- La'el
- Doug Free - Many terrible games.
- Fred/Martin - Struggled with Dontari Poe early in their careers.
- Tyron - Early in his career and more recently due to injury.
- Most players that have played defense for the Cowboys have had 1 terrible game (Lee is the only one in the past decade that might be the exception, but that's offset by all the games he missed).
Fans just enjoy going over-board on players that have had bad games.
From a performance perspective I would want to see if the new OL coach has an impact on guys like Green or the inexperienced free agent Marcus Martin.
The roster is currently at 90. They need OL for the defense to practice against even if those players don't make the team. Replacing Green with a UDFA type OL is not going to help their practices.
They have a Swing OT now (Fleming). They seem comfortable with Looney as the interior backup. They might keep as few as 8 OL. That would most likely mean that Green competes at backup OG with Marcus Martin.
I want him gone because he's never been able to stay on the field, going back to his college days.
