Guess I overestimated some of the fans on this board, because I figured that this thread wouldn't then into a Dak debate thread or a Dak bashing thread. With what the topic was about. Now some are upset that Dak didn't let their negative view of him as a QB drive the type of advice he gave to the recruits. Also he was asked a question, so I don't know how they expected him to answer.
I had a good laugh on page 1
TBH I think the advice Dak gave was good advice. Work hard, don't put to much stock in "stars" or hype, etc. Nothing wrong with that counsel. It's good counsel.
the part that made me laugh hard was him saying that he "isn't a bragger and doesn't like talking about himself".
Reality is, almost every time he's in front of a mike, he's droning on about something great he's doing or something great he's going to do or something great he's going to change for the better.
I was not criticizing him for giving some good advice to a bunch of high school kids. Problem is, certain people see anything critical said about this guy and it's immediately "hating" in their eyes.
my personal opinion is that he runs his mouth too much about how good he is or how good he's going to be, instead of just doing it. Talk is cheap. Results are what matters.
I"m not alone in that opinion. Many others share it. I also fully understand that many on this forum don't share that opinion and that's fine as well. I don't want them banned, or blackballed, or anything else. I just argue against them.
A good many (not all, but many) of his adherents have some pretty thin skin. Any criticism of Dak is immediately targeted for bombardment. If the guy was that great, they wouldn't have to try so hard to quash any criticism of him. His play would take care of that for them. Just my $.02
