Will see what Micah thinks when he asks the Cowboys to pay him as the best defensive player in the NFL. I guarantee he is not taking a home town discount.
Parsons: It aint about the money, its about winning.

Cowboys: Cool, you giving us a hometown discount?

Parsons: LMAO!!!

I'm not screaming into any void

Merely want to see the Cowboys win games.

That's my focus. And meaningless discussions about the "going rate" for starting QBs league wide doesn't really help the cowboys win games.
Then what is your solution at QB then? Its very easy to just say "Dak sucks" but not as easy to find a solution given the following.

A. Cant trade Dak, no trade clause
B. Cant release Dak, would be $89 million dead money hit
C. Cant carry a $50 million cap hit if we are being real, the contract was always intended to be reworked.
D. Cant draft a replacement at pick 26, nobody of starting caliber is projected to be available that late.
E. Cant trade up for starter since team uses the draft as the primary means to build roster and avoids free agency.
F. Cant sit Dak on the bench, you literally are forfeiting 25% of your entire cap, only viable if you are full on tanking.

So, lets hear it. What is your solution at QB this year given all the constraints listed above?

Nobody is taking a home town discount. NFL is a business. Mahomes signed a long term contract that pays him a half billion dollars guaranteed. The only way Kansas City gets out of paying him is if he has a career ending injury. Brady TB12 was invested in and helped set up by the Kraft family. I don’t think people understand the backing of a company by the Kraft family worth way more then an additional 10 million dollar you get on your contract. It is very similar to Jalen Smith eye classes partnership with the Cowboys. Smith hit the jackpot with the Cowboys.

I love when people defend the status quo by saying "well what's your idea to fix it". As if I'm the GM and have that kind of power. I'm merely pointing out the obvious issue. It's there to see for anyone willing to be honest

But anyways there is a simple way around constraint A from your list.

You tell him you're going to bench him. And mean it.

You do that I guarantee you he'll waive the no trade clause and quickly.

The only thing larger than his paycheck is his ego. He actually thinks he's a top 3 NFL QB. 1 or 2 weeks of humiliation carrying a clipboard and he'll do anything to get out of here and get somewhere where he can show everyone how awesome he is

What other problems can I solve for you today?

When they restructure I wonder if the OP will make an addendum to his post.

Well Steve o , I'm not one of those people. My Interest in Dak is because he is the Cowboys QB, If he were a Seahawk I wouldn't care about him. And Yes Steve Good For Dak. He got paid . a little late but Jerry came through

Dak isn't even going to be top 10 in salary after this next round of QB's gets theirs, so forgive me for not buying into the Mob's boolshhh ok. Every other team that has won pays their QB. But Dak has to take a discount ? Why?

Man look I'm trying to stay away from Dak threads, because truthfully, I've already been benched twice behind BS and it just ain't worth my time. Daks here for a while and like all the Qb's that

put on the star before him, I want to enjoy his time here. So far so good, dudes pretty nice spinnin the rock. Maybe we can get to one Hell maybe we can win one. I rooted for Tony to, now Dak's up

But I'm gonna help you out, if you want a gang of dudes, that are full of blind rage and hatred of everything DAK, try Pappy and HIS Doggs. They have all the hate you can handle and logic don't mean a thing to them

PEACE
Well dakfan keep rooting for dak because the cowboys aren't getting a superbowl with him. You think like Jerry. The cowboys are going to keep him for several more years. He will have good games here and there, but he will not go far in the playoffs. Daks 2023 cap hit is the 2nds highest behind Watson. When Dak got his contract he was one of the top played players in the NFl. Do you think he is going to take a pay cut? He will still ask for top money. Thats why he wanted a 4 year contract.

It is because I didn't do the math. Looking at his 31 mill base salary, convert that to bonus money and spread it out over whatever the extension is. Closer to 20 than 49.
27m I believe.

I dont think you have solved anything if I am being honest, your solution is not viable.

The Cowboys are not going to bench a player making $50 million dollars, that is not how the Cowboys operate.

And bench Dak for who? A rookie you draft? Then what happens when the rookie struggles and players on the team start picking sides on who thinks Dak should start versus who thinks a rookie that is struggling should keep starting. That will divide a locker-room faster than anything.

No offense, but that solution is just not viable, the team would never even consider doing that.

No offense taken. It's a discussion forum I enjoy the debate

I do agree with you the cowboys wouldn't employ this strategy because Jerry doesn't have the stones to admit he may have been wrong about Dak but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work if it was tried

If they legit benched him the humiliation would force his hand. Quickly

And as for whom? Rush went 4-1. Say what you want about rush but the wheels didn't fall off when Dak went down.

If the cowboys really wanted to they could navigate around that clause pretty quickly.

That's cool , and that's YOUR OPINION. I tried to explain , I'm a Cowboys fan but you are not listening so I will not argue this further with you. I will support him as long as he's here.

Just asking, when Dak does make it to the Super Bowl, what reason will you find to hate on him then ?????? Because unlike you I'm not willing to say MY TEAM has no chance before the season even starts,

You loyal COWBOYS fan you !

Only in a world as screwed up as this could rooting against your starting QB be seen as having superior fandom

Read your post twice. Made less sense the 2nd time around LOL

But, rant away. Clear train of thought be damned

That not a rant, it's not that hard to follow, in the last 2 years we've won 24 games 12-4 x 2= 24 wins

we also won an away playoff game (Tampa Bay)...................................................................

Nevermind I see reading comprehension's not your strong suit ! Try reading it 3x Maybe the lights will come on, dim and flickering but it's a start

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the only way Dak gets to the superbowl is if he buys a ticket.
