I'm not a huge Dak supporter but he deserves a lot of credit. This offense really is a lot different than the KM one. Dak has gone all in and learned it quickly. A lot of people don't acknowledge all of the positives. The one sack was rather flukish. No turnovers. That's winning football.

Dak might have less than 5 mistakes in two games. Everything else is right on.

Strong defense, a balanced attack and great QB play.

Pretty much the recipe for Super Bowl success in the NFL.

He's a top 10 QB according to NFL personnel.

"Middle of the road" according to you, but nobody would ever pay you for your opinion on anything football-related. Staying in your line would be wise.

8th or 9th or 10th best don’t win championships very often. You should stay in your lane and finally admit that the D will be the reason for the team’s success in January and like many have said If Dak just drives the bus and doesn’t hurt the team then there’s a chance for success. It’s really funny to see Dak groupies take offense to people saying Dak been good playing to his talent level and not hurting the team. I guess you would rather see hollow stats and playoff implosions instead of smart play and substantial wins against great teams. Take off the Dak glasses and make your own analysis instead of listening to the media talking heads. As for top 10 there is only 14-15 good QBs so being 9th plus or minus 1 is middle of the road, I know it’s a lot for you to understand but I have hope you will at some point as well as all the Others who have trouble seeing Dak for what he is. This should be a interesting season and it appears MM has come to terms with Daks limitations and hopefully can protect Dak from being Dak. Enjoy the season it should be a good one and hopefully the Defense can stay healthy and take the team where it wants to go.

The problem with your desire here is that Romo changed the plays at the line and would have eliminated the run game altogether if he were unfettered.

Romo could throw the ball. But Romo would have needed to shackle that mindset of a gunslinger to make this offense work.

I'm not certain he was built like that.
Exactly, in other words, Romo ran the play HE wanted to run 75% of the time regardless of the call from the sideline (lol).

This is a very late follow up (work got in the way). The entire sequence has been uploaded to YouTube and can be viewed at this link. YouTube's view-only-on-its-website practice is a personal pet peeve, since posting NFL videos here are often not viewable without going there. I'm trying something new by uploading the video instead to IMGUR and posting it here also. The video's audio can be unmuted to hear the call. Plus, the video's size can be maximized to screen width like a YouTube video:

Jake Ferguson was wide open as Tony Romo stated during the play. Below illustrates where the defenders were positioned when the decision was made to throw to Ferguson:

Just a beautifully designed play, leaving plenty of room for Ferguson to work with. All defenders, who did not have responsibility for covering Ferguson, were taken out of the play. Ferguson had gained separation from his defender, who would not have been in position to make a play on the ball.

I believe the replay shows less arc on the pass would have easily cleared all nearby defenders. The rest would have been up to Ferguson to secure the catch in the corner of the endzone.

Exactly....right decision, just a bad throw

I had initially said it was a bad pass also. However, I have changed my opinion to it being a poor pass instead.

It was crucial to lob the ball over the defenders' reach. The target was the corner pylon. Both of those aims were accomplished.

The replay clearly shows a touch too much power was behind the ball. Shaving a little more off would have dropped it right into Ferguson's hands.

It is a play that should remain a top viable option in that particular goal-to-go/down and distance situation. It should not take much more practice for that play to become reliably dangerous on a routine basis.

Opposing defensive coordinators will plan for it now after seeing it. That is a good thing too though if it draws defenders to play deeper in the endzone for probable passes, opening up underneath opportunities.

Dak threw 38 passes as well. The Cowboys are a passing team. Can’t wait to hear how the mediots spin this. I am old enough to remember how teams want Dak to throw the football.

Mediots...heck look on here. Some are only saying it is because of the defense. You know the drill.

It’s sad that fans don’t understand how complicated the Cowboys offense is. Only a few quarterbacks can run this offense and be successful as Dak.

As a team we are very fortunate that our Qb is playing mistake free football AND is staying healthy

when you look around the league we see a lot of injured or struggling quarterbacks

we‘ve got a date and some payback with the Niners in just 3 short weeks

Dak did miss an easy TD when he went to the tight end instead of seeing a very wide open Lamb in the end zone waving his hands...there was nobody around him and Dak missed that play, real bad.
I think I was more disappointed in the inability to score by running that series than Dak missing that pass!

Destroyed a top 5 defense in this league. Scored the most points on the Jets in their last 17 games. You don't like winning 30-10?
You are wasting your time and energy.

Both sides are entrenched in their opinions. You won't be able to convince him....ever. He's not the only one

Whats funny is seeing things like this "Dak is playing good but only because we have come to terms with he sucks" what a pile of Bull, people wont take you seriously because your comments ooze with agenda and non sense.

Tyler will make a massive difference
Tyler might be the best run blocker on the O-Line, and that's saying something with Tyron, Martin and Steele on the same line.

So ya, until Tyler returns, he will be sorely missed in the run game.

The Chargers look eerily like the Cowboys did last year. The problem is Kellen Moore has an offense that works against mediocre teams, but it gets stuffed againist tough defensive teams like the 49ers.

Being tricky and airing it out constantly with deep passing plays really racks up the stats, especially against bad teams, but against teams with a great D-line, you don't have the time for receivers to run halfway down the field... or against teams with good corners, throwing a 20 yard bomb on 3rd and 2 is a BAD move.

That kind of offense works in college because there is no 'salary cap' per se in college and certain teams can have way more talent than other teams, so you can get away with long developing passing plays and it works against teams with a bad defense because your o line holds up or you're picking on a corner, but against tough defenses, it completely falls apart, which is why we saw Denver beat us up a couple of years ago.
