Think about all that we’ve given up for this teams buy in with him

-cap hell for the next decade

-losing out on good players and free agents

-he’s about to get his second coach fired next year

-the 2016 decision to go with him over Romo leading to a first round exit

-squandering the best cowboys team in 20 years with another first round exit due to poor qb play

-cutting or trading players who don’t get along with Dak or we just can’t simply afford them anymore

Think about the following qb option we had the last 2 years

1. Tom Brady
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Russell Wilson
4. Dashaun Watson
5. Matt Stafford

And Dak makes more money than all of them. I know this isn’t all predicated on Dak but it’s kind of hard not to feel that we’ve been cheated out of something since we signed him to this ridiculous deal
Easily the dumbest Post this decade...

You'd think we only won 12 games last season :lmao2::lmao2:

We had no.chance any of the above QBs other than Watson who.was.fighting criminal.charges and didn't play last year.

Dak cap hit was 17M last year. So who did u want to sign and couldn't because of the cap hit?

It's reduced this year and we are going to have 36M in cap space soon. So who do u want to sign and can't.

There is a difference between won't and can't.

Btw the Cooper thing is more Jerry Jones than Dak. He wasn't happy about him not getting vaccinated and missed two games because of COVID and his half arsed effort in SF game.

Is Dak bad? Yes...... but if u think everything that ails the cowboys is because of Dak then u don't have a clue.

The third bullet point down you showed what a quality post this isn't. Poor Jason Garrett, always a victim of circumstances.

He's special...love him...he needs it.

Don't make Daks fans mad...we must really see the greatness in his actions.

I can't blame a player for accepting a contract that makes him rich.

Threads like this demonstrate how little people understand about the business side of the NFL.

Dak Prescott's contract has ZERO to do with why we are here.

The Elliott contract? Now you can start talking.

I am certainly not happy with Prescott. Never have been a fan.

But his contract is not what is hamstringing the franchise.

I guess it is easier to blame him for picking up a pen versus blame the imbecile who crafted the contract that is literally crippling flexibility.

One day, Prescott will be gone. And all the frustrations that go along with him will be gone too.

But Stephen Jones will still be here.

Who ruined the this team the other 19 years?

Do we have to pretend that between Jerry and Stephen that there was a period of intellect and sanity?

No, this is a generational struggle.

It is in the blood.

Wait until Stephen dies off and Spaulding takes over.

Not really.

We "had Romo".

That didn't result in much either.

Tom Brady himself could come to this franchise and try to resurrect it.

He would fail because of how we do things.

I got you, big dog. I wish that I could walk into a job and get paid big money before doing anything....yet after six years? Nada...

When Jerry says let me write you a huge check you just can't say no. They telegraph all of their big moves and Dak took advantage. They are weak minded. They do not have the fortitude to have let good players walk or trade them ahead of time. Sad really

It's ironic we're stuck with average overpaid talent like Zeke and Dak . But let go of players that have performed better that these two overpaid disappointments?

-The Cowboys aren't in cap hell for the next decade.
-Exactly which good players have the Cowboys missed on on? They do go after any anymore.
-McCarthy is getting fired next year? You know this how exactly?
-The 2016 decision had everything to do with Romo's health and Dak winning games. It was time to pass the torch. Romo's record in January wasn't the greatest either.
-The playoff loss to the 49er's had a lot to do with penalties and the poor OL play, not just Dak's poor play.

I'm not sure I'm buying all your points against Dak. I'm not trying to defend him because he has his faults. But everything you mentioned can't be put on him.

So one contract has nothing to do with our cap troubles, but the other does. That doesn't make sense.

I would have never signed Zeke, Cooper, Dak, or DLaw at those prices. None of them were worth it, IMO.
