Even when the team does its job, Dak chokes it away. He can get you to the playoffs if everything goes well, but when the team struggles, he NEVER steps up.
Dak helped the Cowboys to 3 straight 12-win seasons, and was runner-up last year for MVP. Yes, he's struggling mightily this season, but he has stepped up in the past for sure...as the Cowboys' defense has had plenty of games when they were average to subpar.

Dak wasn't paid on potential, he got paid because of past performance, and the pundits continuous praise.

Yes, he's a bit overrated, but the entire Cowboys roster has mostly been overrated over the last 5 years.

You can be done with Dak, just don't rewrite history. Dak has shown promise, but his best days may behind him. This roster, and MM, it's a lot for any QB to overcome...especially one without a lot of intangibles (which very few have). Football is a team sport, but you also need a good QB.

Dak is on the decline, the roster stinks, Mike McCarthy is pretty bad...all can be true, simultaneously

I think Dak may have just been shut down for the year because the belief is that nothing is going to save this season, especially not a declining QB who may or may not have an actual injury. Shut him down and save his overrated butt for next season.

Yes! Being that we are stuck with him for the next few seasons, hopefully giving him the rest of the season off he comes back rejuvenated and can play some decent football!

I know it is probably a pipe dream but I have to put some type of positive spin on this football team going forward!

I was at the game and watched Rush walk onto the field and thought, ‘What happened?’ My brother was watching on TV and texted that they were looking at Dak’s hand, then something showed up on a screen in-stadium that read ‘hamstring’. At that moment, Dak was on the sideline, helmet on, standing there like he was ready to return to the game. He stood there the entire offensive series, and after we got the ball back on the next series, I could no longer find him on the sideline.

My first thought when Rush was in and Dak looked ready to go was, ‘Maybe they want to see what Rush can do since we’re playing so poorly’. Rush looked like a lost dog on the field….just can’t play QB without a competent OL, only one legit WR threat, and no run game, I don’t care who the QB is.

I’m not a conspiracy guy, but it crossed my mind that we might use an ‘injured’ Dak to bail on the season, get the draft pick, and not look like we’re tanking. We can’t fix the run game this year and Rico def isn’t the answer to any question. I like him, but he’s no RB1. If healthy, the defense just needs a little weight on the interior line, but the offense needs serious OL, WR, and RB help.

Idk…. It’s disappointing after three 12 win seasons. Complain about the playoffs all you want, but ya gotta get there first. Dak is quite capable of doing that, but not under these conditions, most notably the complete absence of a run game.
Maybe Dak is being traded???

Steelers Tomlin was over the top about Dak after they lost. His contract is set up in a way that he could be traded fairly easily for another team.

Jerry would have a lot of Dead Cap space to eat, not sure it would even be possible to do this year.

OK makes sense, which means next season, he's going have more Cowboys snaps....with a new HC, and a new OC. We may not be all-in on the roster, but Jerry's all-in on Dak. o_O

And Dak is right...this team f@#king sucks as currently constructed, all of them together.

Years ago, this forum was a pretty nice place to visit, chill out, chat and talk some football.

These days, it is just different. Constant bickering, insults, childish respsonses, and you have to be labeled a Dak hater or Dak lover....

Today in this thread we have unfounded drug addiction accusations, fake injuries, etc.
Keeps things interesting and some times entertaining.

I agree with this for the most part but I'd respectfully disagree that he ever really showed much promise.

I never bought into the "Dak is our guy" angle. I understand some did see huge promise and we can agree to disagree

His last start in a Cowboys uniform can't come soon enough for me.

Good gosh, I wish Dak fans would stop bringing up the smoke and mirrors "runner-up MVP." He didn't get a single number one vote for it. Not one. A QB that was ranked lower than him got more number one votes. So not a single voter thought he was worthy of mvp. Let that sink in. He padded his stats against terrible teams and choked in big moments like he always does. The rest of the team choked too, but lets not put Dak on the excellent QB pedestal. It's smoke and mirrors. He was a good regular season QB, but choked 3 years in a row in the playoffs and now he's choking in the regular season...never stepping up.
