Dak has never had the natural tools a QB needs. He has had to work so hard on his footwork and mechanics he breaks down under pressure.

• Pocket poise has been compromised
• Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw
• Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions
• Must speed up the pace of his reads

Why should anyone believe Jones and DNA Kid #1 not see it? Why should anyone believe McCarthy and McClay has not voiced what you have observed?

Jones and his son are not football geniuses but they are not blind. There is little reason to believe McCarthy and McClay have not voiced similar observations for years but there is a single obvious reason why their opinions may not carry much weight.

That one obvious reason? Jerry Jones. 30 years of observation he thinks his personal football assessment is better than most peers but onlookers are still bewildered and continue asking why this and why that.

I'm not arguing your point. I just think the fact Dak panics in some of these playoff games is a larger concern. Similar to a lot of regular season games. If the Cowboys are doing well from the start, he's ok. But get down early, or struggle early, and he craps the bed.

Dak Prescott has never run like Patrick Mahomes or Brock Purdy, On the other hand, Prescott has long demonstrated he has the ability to pick up enough yards to change down and distance situations or even first downs.

His ankle injury has long since been repaired but it does impact his running ability to a certain degree. Even so, Prescott's issue, in this instance, is not running. The issue is he is not as decisive as Mahomes or Purdy for when TO run. There may be a relatively small sample size but too often Prescott still holds onto the ball--trying to decide when to put the trigger on a pass--as opposed to Mahomes and Purdy just tucking the ball and taking what the defense has given them.

That is an overreaction. He isn't what he used to be as a runner. But this year he averaged 14.2 yards a game compared to a career average of 16.5. His yards per carry was 4.4 compared to his career 4.6. I just looked up Purdy's numbers. He had 9 carries a game and a 3.7 average meaning Dak had better numbers. SF beat a lot of good teams and is in the super bowl.

Dak certainly has a big problem but being a horrible runner isn't it.
