The majority of fans grade quarterbacks om statistics only, and not even the correct ones.
They vasty underestimate the value of critical attributes such as leadership, poise, loyalty, hard work, great relationships with fellow teammates, ability to inspire, positive role model, and setting a standard for public behavior.
These all matter. Public behavior? Early suspensions cost the Cowboys a season or two.
Great relationship with fellow teammates? His teammates love him.
Ability to inspire? First one to practice, last to leave is one of his habits admired by his peers. The way in which he goes about conducting his job related business and responsibilities inspires his teammates to work harder than they were originally willing.
There is so much more to being a successful NFL quarterback than numbers.
And the most important stat? That would be won/lost record. The main goal of a quarterback is to help win games in the role assigned to them and there is a multitude of different roles.
