Dak has made more bad decisions on the football field than he has since 2017 (no Elliott) and the first half of 2018 (no Amari Cooper, no.1 WR, no.1 TE, and C).
To use the language that Dak is not a smart player/QB in incredulous and overtly disingenuous. You do not get to be a QB as long as Dak Prescott has, win as much as Dak Prescott has, and be reward for playing football as Dak Prescott has without being a smart player.
He is the QB of America's team, and has a master's degree. So, not smart is the logic of the original post, and not Dak Prescott.
However. being prone to bad decision making lately is accurate and I have said over and over again that Dak Prescott is not a franchise QB that can carry a team to a Super Bowl with his passing alone. He is not Roger Staubach who retire as the NFL leading passer, Troy Aikman who was the no.1 draft pick overall with one of the highest draft grades coming out of college to the NFL, and is definitely not Dan Marino who literally carried mediocre teams with has QB passing skills for over a decade. Prescott needs what he had in High School, College, and his first year in the NFL, a running game, defense, excellent receivers/TE, a great QB coach, and a solid defense. Knowing this about Dak Prescott, who is putting him in position to sabotage himself?
Start with the GM that messed up the 2017 season in court trying to play who has the biggest balls with Roger Goodell/NFL in the Elliott suspension. In 2018 GM takes his no.1 WR, no.1 TE, and he lost a All Pro C to injury/illness. 2019 he has one of the best seasons by a Cowboys QB but still has one of the worst long term NFL head coaches in Cowboys history (Jason Garrett). You know Dak Prescott cannot carry a team but you make him play without a Head Coach and a solid defense almost every year since 2016. He has had a OC that is learning on the job and 2 Head Coaches that are lame on the job.
So Dak is a product of his environment that leads to bad QB bad decision making that leads to spells of bad QB performances. But, Dak Prescott is smart. He got his duffel bag full of money through all this insanity by a owner that plays GM and defacto Head Coach. You put Dak on the 49ers, he wins, on the Eagles, he wins, on the Saints, he wins, and on the Ravens, he wins. You put him without talent on offense, defense, and coaching, and he will not look like the smart QB he is because of the DUMB decision makers around him.
