Dak is not Dan Marino

With the awesome running game, for 3 quarters, why can't we complete 7-10 yard passes? we were struggling to throw/complete anything beyond 6 yards. Can't count on D to bail us out all the time, will not work in playoffs

If you want to win in the playoffs you will have to carry this QB. There's no drama. There's no uncertainty. He can't do it. Carry him or get eliminated.

Dak needs to stay under 30 attempts and we need to be featuring Pollard much more in this offense. He kicks it into another notch. CD has been incredible these past few weeks he looks like a completely different player from the start of the season.

Marino is the best passer of a ball I’ve seen, if he played today his stats would be crazy.
I’d he’d had the supporting cast that Montana had, he’d be in the conversation of being the best QB ever.
So you’re right he’s no Dan Marino, but that’s exactly a bad thing.

Right no one could throw the strikes that Dan Marino could throw any day of the week in any situation. Not even Mahomes (who is the best qb in the league right now). No idea what the point of this thread is unless the OP had no idea that this has been discussed a million times already.

Living in Cincinnati, it's interesting to watch and compare Joe Burrow and Dak. And there's no comparison. Burrow makes everything look so easy and is so calm under pressure. He makes throws down the field with ease. Whereas with Dak it's like every throw is difficult and into a tight window. I partly think it's the playcalling, but then I see Dak miss a wide open CeeDee Lamb on a 2nd down play where he dumps it down to Zeke. Could have been a huge play but instead Dak settled for 2 or 3 yards. Burrow would have hit CeeDee for a big gainer, no doubt in my mind.

If only Burrow had some good receivers to throw to…

That’s a good analogy. Mahomes release and arm strength reminds many people of Marinos.

I would just say he's inconsistent and significantly limited with some of his throws. On pass plays they need to roll him out more and stop running curls and comebacks.

He has some good ones, no doubt. But he didn't have Chase the last 4 weeks. Higgins is good, very underrated. Boyd is pretty good as well, similar to Gallup. But Burrow makes them all better. He's very accurate and hits them in stride. Look at the throw he made on 3rd and 11 to seal the win for them yesterday. Not many QB's making that throw in that situation!

Emmitt Smith needed 20 carries a game for that 90's team to be successful. Emmitt had over 340 carries every year we won a Super Bowl. A good coach would find the best element for his teams success and stick with that element throughout the year. The fact that you need to be given this information means...you just don't see the big picture.
