Dak is not my QB

The same team? So the defense was forcing turnovers and stopping the run the first eight weeks? The offensive line blocked that well? McCarthy stuck with the running game when Dak was playing?

This entire Cowboys team has improved. You win in the NFL by playing complementary football. Dallas has just started to do that these past five weeks. They didn't do it in Rush's first two starts either when they lost to Philly and Houston by a combined score of 68-16.

You call these excuses. I call it football. It takes more than a quarterback to win. No matter who he is.
Actually, you guys are hating on the defense too much for earlier in the season. The problem was the offense, When your offense only puts up 6 points and you're into the 3rd quarter, then the Defense did its job. When your best offensive weapon on the field is your field goal kicker, then you can't really blame the defense. Dak supporters always put down our Offensive Line and Defense year in and out. Then the rest of us have to hear about how Dak 'carried' the team against the Steelers, when that was a dink and dunk a thon, where if we were playing against a more potent offense at the time we would've lost. We won that game moreso to the Defense than Dak, IMO.

So was this really the formula in every single game Dak has won- 77 in all?

Or is it just something you made up because Dak Prescott as the Cowboys' QB triggers you (for whatever reason) and it fits the narrative?

Everything you said about Dak and this offense is wrong. The Cowboys went 12-5 three seasons in a row before this 2024 disaster. One of the problems this year was McCarthy's poor playcalling and the basic routes the receivers ran.

It might hurt a lot of people's eyes to see this, but I have read in-depth scouting reports on NFL websites describing how well Dak sees the field and how quickly he got the ball out in season's past. In 2024, I don't think McCarthy trusted the o-line with two rookies starting to hold up well enough and his playcalling when Dak played was stale and predictable.

Prescott excels at reading defenses. This is why his stats against the blitz have been off the charts throughout the past several years. And why do teams blitz Dak? Because they don't want to give him time to pick them apart.

If you want to believe all of Dak's wins were only because he played bad teams and because Jerry built such a roster of all-pros around him to carry him, so be it. There is no amount of factual information that will change anybody's mind about this guy, so it is what it is. Happy Holidays.
lol.. average QBs are generally rated high against the blitz.. why?

1. Teams blitz BAD QBs at a high rate, not good QBs, because they are explosing themselves. This is why Taylor Heineke a few years back was one of the highest rated QBs against the blitz.

2. Teams blitz when they are getting zero pressure, which was happening often with Dallas OL. They are trying to force things to happen.

3. Everybody, including Jimmie Johnson and Witten in the booth said Dak is sn early read QB.

4. Dak’s record of 77 wins are against mediocre teams, which is why he’s still not getting past the division round even with HF advantage. He’s lucky he’s played in the NFC East got so long.

2-5, time to move on was years ago.
Not sure he can even get you to the playoffs anymore. Will have to see how he will look next year. But I said before, it used to be Deer caught in headlights used to refer to Dak in the Playoffs or the Big game. These days it refers to him in the backfield when the pass rush is coming. That sack Rush avoided in the last game, Dak would've taken this year. If your Quarterback can't avoid the sack, he is not going to be around as long as some people think.

It's hilarious that Dak won so many games the past several years and everyone downplayed it.

Cooper Rush does the same- with HEAVY support from the running game, defense, and special teams that Dak did not have early this season- and he gets lauded for it.

Dallas needed two special teams touchdowns to beat Washington. They needed a pick six on Thanksgiving to beat a trash Giants team playing it's third quarterback. They ran the ball for 211 yards to beat Carolina. They needed three 50-plus yard field goals and two miracle turnovers from the defense to hang on against Tampa Bay. All Rush did in those games was not mess it up.

Don't get me wrong, Dak did not have a great season. But the Cowboys' playcalling and execution at other positions improved the past five weeks. And if Dak was healthy and Dallas won these games, we all know what the narrative would be here:

"Dak putting up garbage time wins in a lost season, we need a new QB".

Having said that, I like Rush. I want him back next season. Not because I think he's better than Dak, it's that I no longer trust Dak to stay healthy.
Dak sucks

And its hilarious that you have to use supporting cast to compare them and their play this season.

The only QB in the league with this many excuses.

What I stated are facts. Bradie James was getting smoked by Jon Kitna. This guy has 2 INTs his whole career here. He had 2,5 sacks going into 2007, when he had 3 sacks. He notched 8 with Wade once, when Wade was running special 46 packages. That was an anomaly for James. He was awful and when paired with Akin Ayodele in the passing game.

The 2014 season when Romo was basically MVP with linehsn in his first year and that OL, he was undefeated on the ROAD and Sean Lee was hurt the whole year.

khiladi....with all due respect.......cry me a river with that. As much as Romo was liked by me too, as much as he gave US excitement......he gave late game gaffes too. You know that....the name "Tony Ohno" didn't just fall out the sky.
I just don't get the call out on Bradie James. We don't do such with Dak.....LVE & Jaylon Smith ring a bell? Bryon Jones? This alone will bring out the croonies on this board again defending and campaigning for Tony and dismiss the belief that I like Tony Romo too.

As for 2014, I got no problem with Tony Romo and the Cowboys that season. As for the playoffs that year, other than wishing DeMarco Murray didn't fumble (great play by Julius Peppers) on a play that had lots of yardage ahead, and of course the infamous "no catch" by Dez. I didn't blame or put it all on Romo.......had that been Dak at QB, he'd got blamed for the Green Bay weather before the game.

To be fair, you just got destroyed with a seriously impressive rebuttal yet your response was as above. It's not difficult to understand why people don't take your posts seriously and merely treat them as thoughts and assertions from that of a clown.
Swagger.....hope you're not assuming I take your's serious. I'm good with my stance. Beauty of the board, we all got opinions like we all got rear-ends.

Actually, I don't buy or own and Cowboy jerseys.(I have a few hats). And if I did own a jersey, I certainly wouldn't burn it up or rip it up, over some foolishness, having spent my own money for it. That's just dumb to me, but to each his own
The circus also has a few people with shovels walking behind the horses and elephants too, with stuff on their shoes.

I think we all agree that Dak is not worth the contract, he was a very good QB at one point, but at this age and injury history, it'll be hard for him to even break the top 10 again. That said, he has his contract, will be our starter next year and probably the year after that. I am a fan of the Cowboys, Dak is our QB, me rooting for Dak to fail is counter productive to our team's success. So, Go Dak, Go Cowboys. At the end, if he wins, we all win, if he loses, we all lose..haters or homers.

That's fine, I have no problem with that at all. No one has ever called me out. I just don't do the jersey thing, for any sport. I'm ok with that.
Living in the DMV, been to Northwest Stadium (Commander fans are pretty cool), no problems at all. Wife wears her Cowboy jersey. We're good.

I see. So he lucked into dozens and dozens of wins, Because Cowboy schedules were somehow unusually easy. Is this really a serious take? Just admit you hate the Cowboys. You’re making it pretty obvious.

Dak ran into more sacks than any QB I have ever seen. He would leave a clean pocket and straight into a sack or run out of bounds short of the line of scrimmage instead of throwing it away, which counted as a sack making the Oline looks worse just to protect his overstated stats

Yeah, right. While racking up a dozen wins a season, year after year, he ran into sack after sack after sack. The team won all those games on an excellent punt game following Prescott sacks.

Save your breath....these Dak haters are worse than a stubborn mule. Even a cattle prod couldn't move em....but, I admit, it's fun to mess with them. They get all bent outta shape and start pounding their Madden game! Lol
