I agree with you I wonder how many more hard hits Tony can take.
I was watching the game with a friend today and when Dak took some of those hits he said Tony would have been out and I agreed.

Yea, Dak took a couple of vicious hits for sure. The db's were frustrated and they let him experience it a time or two. I cringed, but Dak just bounced up like it was just another day at the office. Romo, yeah, it's going to suck seeing him end his career on the turf. Just the way it is..hoping my premonitions are wrong though.

When was he inaccurate today? He struggled with his accuracy when rolling right and throwing toward the sideline against SF, but otherwise his ball placement has very much been one of his better traits.
His receivers made a lot of leaping catches just in this game today that would have been possible picks if they hadn't.

Yeah Romo has never done that. Oh that's right they were full blown picks.

Dak is playing incredible now so everyone is happy, but it will be interesting to see if he has a bad game (and odds are he will eventually) how many people that are saying the Cowboys don't need Romo will be calling for him to come back

Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, and Steve Young all forced to enter retirement in their mid to late 30's. Romo is no exception.

It was a different game then, there are a dozen rules in place now to protect QBs right up to the "QB wears a plaid skirt" rule.

Thank you for posting this, I just love it when "experts" are proven wrong

Dak is the best draft pick we have made in 20 years or more, and 80% of the posts in that thread aren't even "wait and see", they are certain Dak will suck.

Yet mysteriously he's just as beat up and fragile as all of them at that stage in their careers. Wonder why that is. Hmm..

Not every throw made is going to be exactly on target, some of us here on this forum seem to be saying all of Tony's throws are right on target, that simply isn't true. No NFL quarterback is able to put every throw directly on target, that"s why receiver is one of the most athletic positions on the football field. We often hear the quarterbacks say "I threw it where only he could go get it". Top NFL receivers are paid to go get those tough throws, it's not like Dak is throwing the ball in the turf and all over the place. The accuracy argument regarding Dak is not a valid one in my opinion.

Dak is nothing short of masterful when it comes to his vision, pace and accuracy of those short and intermediate passes. He hasn't been utilized, tested and proven highly successful as yet with his long range passing. Maybe it will come in time and with further development. To be completely honest, as exceptional as he has been so far with precisely what he has shown, I'm not too sure much improvement is really necessary for him to enjoy a highly successful career. The things like reading defenses astutely will come with additional experience, although his obvious successes seem to suggest he's already well on his way.

Even in a league where QBs took a much heavier pounding, those "beat up and fragile" QBs performed.

Marino lead the league in passing attempts and completions at the same age Romo is (36), then played two more years.

Steve Young lead the league in completion percentage at 36 on a 12-3 team, then took his team to 11-4 the next year.

Bradshaw and Montana played before the invention of the Fax machine, if you want to pull out examples from 40 years ago I can pull out some of my own.

Dak is carrying this team all the way.

He's not carrying the team, he's energized the team with his solid play, poise and leadership. He's getting help from the running game and players are stepping up even on defense.

Only that Romo is one of the all-time greatest passers to have ever played the game. Yep, no logic at all.

Romo isn't ranked near high enough on the all-time passing list to be considered one of the all-time greatest passers. He ranks 28th on the all-time passing list and continues to fall with the more games he misses. His name will never come up in a discussion about the all-time greatest passers.
