None of it.team offensive failure? 3rd in scoring. 10 total offense, 14th in passing (including the 100 yard game against the rams). 8th in rushing. 9th in TD passes. ok, I can see the offensive failure in those.
so you are focusing on Interceptions I presume. but you also licked the jocks of Herbert and Stafford. in 2021, stafford led the league in interceptions. Herbert had 15. you are still licking. before you respond, also see the interception percentages.
I am not saying, I don't care about the interceptions, so don't get your shorts tied in a knot, although you already have
"and in Dak's 7 years, this is by far the most interception and interception percentages he has, yet, you take this year as "not a fluke" but a representation of who he is. yet completely ignoring the other 6, why? because it doesn't fit your narrative."so doesn't the same logic go for every other QB? or is that the logic just for Dak debate? over a course of a season, with 100s of throws and over the course of several seasons now into 1000s, the completion percentage will start to normalize around what you are and is an indication of your accuracy. with QBs, its never one single stat that explains everything, but the collection. so no, you are wrong, it is a reliable indicator, as inaccurate QBs tend to have lower percentage. ala Rush!.
and in Dak's 7 years, this is by far the most interception and interception percentages he has, yet, you take this year as "not a fluke" but a representation of who he is. yet completely ignoring the other 6, why? because it doesn't fit your narrative.
and Dak is not elite. he does need to be less aggressive. I am not arguing that.
Heck, and I still can't figure out the contradiction. This HCs offseason remarks of returning to an effective run game while clamoring for a big WR2 upgrade makes me think high volume passing."and in Dak's 7 years, this is by far the most interception and interception percentages he has, yet, you take this year as "not a fluke" but a representation of who he is. yet completely ignoring the other 6, why? because it doesn't fit your narrative."
You seemed to have missed a very significant part of my "narrative". Specifically the part where I pointed out that Dak was trying to do things he hasn't done much of in the past. When a player changes their game up the way Dak tried to do, the previous seasons lose significance as far as comparisons go.
Not for nothing, but Dak should be in the prime of his career. He should be refining and polishing, not reinventing himself in response to long held criticisms.
"We're getting open". Cole Beasley 2017, in response to the beginnings of the Dak apologists screaming "separation!!!", and one year after he was an integral part of Dak's rookie year success.
Six years later they're still screaming "separation!!!".
Thishe doesn't have the processing skills when it matters. A sloth can run faster than he can process the defense. shrugs it is what it is.
Big Mac is telling everyone exactly what the situation is. Other attributes not withstanding, it can't be argued that he doesn't have a pedigree when it comes to working with QB's.Heck, and I still can't figure out the contradiction. This HCs offseason remarks of returning to an effective run game while clamoring for a big WR2 upgrade makes me think high volume passing.
Something's gotta give. It ain't like Mac's coaching history is rooted in run game superiority.
But ultimately all the while Catch17's post continually rears its head in my mind. And that is "We need to stop trying to figure out ways to win with Dak. We paid him to be the answer not the problem."
This is the sad reality we can't escape.
Daks family posse here have no excuses left when they know as well as we do that it ain't a matter of if Dak's poor decision making will directly lead to playoff loss, but when.
Fun times.
Cowboys!
While I totally agree with ya Vtwin I was taking it from the angle of recent contracts to Gallup and Cooks and this being Lamb's contract year as well so to speak.Big Mac is telling everyone exactly what the situation is. Other attributes not withstanding, it can't be argued that he doesn't have a pedigree when it comes to working with QB's.
When he is telling us that he wants to focus on the running game, and significantly upgrade the WR group he is telling us that the QB needs ALL the help he can possibly get.
Yep Cap,Mike just needs a good quarterback to carry him like what was done in Green Bay. shrugs, good luck with that one Mike.
Ahh... I see what you're saying. Unfortunately we can't discount the Jerry Factor. We can only hope a combo of lessons learned and desperation help him keep his coaching hat on the rack. While I totally agree with ya Vtwin I was taking it from the angle of recent contracts to Gallup and Cooks and this being Lamb's contract year as well so to speak.
In other words, remember how it seemed Coach Jones influenced a gameplan by getting Zeke carries regardless of his ineffectiveness based on that contract?
I was thinking Jerry being Jerry might once again want to see his WR contract money be put to good use and this ultimately end up being a high volume pass attack.
I totally agree with your ALL the help he can get take, lol.
huh? you just move the goal post. you initially talked about completion percentage is meaningless. now you are shifting to not running on certain plays and choosing to throw. btw, I have said it that some of the throws and interceptions were bad. I think about half of th 15 should not have been thrown. some of the others happened and it happens to every QB including Mahomes and others...None of it.
Absolutely NONE of it excuses Dak from choosing not to run when there is open field, throw to stared down, and sometimes double covered receivers vice obvious available options.
These decisions and these alone are the responsibility of the one man who has the ball in his hand when the play is happening in real time.
No scheme, play call or improved roster changes his inability to make the right decisions.
There is no debate.
No matter how you try to respond to this it cannot be refuted.
Case closed.
I think it's funny that we're supposed to be encouraged that it took Dak 7 years to become an INT machine."and in Dak's 7 years, this is by far the most interception and interception percentages he has, yet, you take this year as "not a fluke" but a representation of who he is. yet completely ignoring the other 6, why? because it doesn't fit your narrative."

so he tried something new, because his coach told him to do so and thus forget everything else he has ever done... as if Dak is the only player who has ever changed his game. nobody in the NFL, no QB has ever tried to change their game...never ever."and in Dak's 7 years, this is by far the most interception and interception percentages he has, yet, you take this year as "not a fluke" but a representation of who he is. yet completely ignoring the other 6, why? because it doesn't fit your narrative."

Has it been shown that Dak was ordered to be more aggressive? If so, should even have to be told that he needs to actually make some plays, like every other QB needs to do?so he tried something new, because his coach told him to do so and thus forget everything else he has ever done... as if Dak is the only player who has ever changed his game. nobody in the NFL, no QB has ever tried to change their game...never ever.
and Dak is not elite. as a result he is not perfect. will never be perfect. but everyone keeps screaming about him not being elite and they kick and scream and point to all the imperfections. to what point? what are you trying to prove? that Dak is not elite? and you want elite? and as somebody else said, we should draft one. great, lets do. find me one. they point to mahomes...great, but there is 30 others who failed. I am not opposed to drafting a QB, even in the first round, but what if it doesn't work out. just wanting to get rid of Dak is not the answer. unless you have a plan in place and non of the Bash Dak over Dallas cult members seem to have a plan. they just want to complain
Tell emmmmmmmHas it been shown that Dak was ordered to be more aggressive? If so, should even have to be told that he needs to actually make some plays, like every other QB needs to do?
You're going to have to show me actual examples of a QB, especially a QB that was paid top dollar, changing his mental makeup from cautious to aggressive, successfully. It's much easier to tone down an over confident dog than to build up a dog that lacks confidence. As Cowboys fans we have seen that exact sentiment played out in front of us over the last 16 years.
For all your dramatically expressed strawman deflections, you seem to be missing the point. You seem to have an agenda. I'm not trying to prove anything. I am talking football, which involves critiquing the team, just as it has since the first two people had the first conversation about the first team sports game ever played. Why does that bother you so much?
Bonus question. Why is critiquing Dak so much of a problem when virtually every other player on the team can be criticized without getting near the amount of drama that critics of Dak get?
Very cultish behavior.
